Default New improved GTS headlight kit in the pipeline

Hi all

Mark and I will finish the development of a new GTS headlight kit in the next 3-4 weeks. We spent the last few weeks developping a new prototype of GTS style Makrolon headlight covers. The problem with all products currently available on the market (including the one we have been offering so far) is that the covers do not exactly replicate the shape of the OEM metal headlight covers...besides that, many of them offer a very poor fitment and quality...

So we have been looking into different options for solving this problem and ended up with the below which IMHO looks very good...please note that the pictures showing the covers on the car do not look right as I have just deinstalled the OEM metal covers from my 951 (0.8mm steel) and placed the 3mm Makrolon covers on for checking the fitment...thats why they stand out...

Anyway, some pictures of the first set of prototype covers

As you can see these covers are not flat at all..they have a convex shape on every edge, even the rear end of it is slightly curved...

The next step of the development process will include the re-engineering of the buckets which is up to Mark. He will produce the moulds in very high quality which will allow us to offer this kit with optional carbon fibre housings

Cheers

Beni

Those do look great.

Something I have always been wondering is could you make the covers out of something like a tinted material giving it a sort of stealth look?

I think that would look great on a black car (like mine) in fact I offer to be the test mule

Finally! Looks fantastic. The only thing that would be better is to make them in HID. Please do this! Check out McCulloch HID kits. They are some of the best on the market now. Check them out at ultrabrightlights.com

Hi all

Thanks for your replies. Below some details on the specifications of the kit:

Weight savings: The OEM pop up light setup including lift motor, lift bar, etc. weighs 16kg's whereas our GTS headlights will only weigh 2.5kg including everything resulting in a diet of 13.5kg's.

Using a tinted material would not be an issue but deteroriates the light performance. If somebody wants that we can manufacture it on a custom order basis but we do not recommend it...

The first version will be a high-quality conversion kit including Hella headlight units with conventional technology. We might develop a HID version by Q3 of this year but momentary we want to focus on the basis version for everybody who wants to fit this in his racecar.

The price for the complete set including everything (housings, light units, covers, brackets, screws, tools) will be approx. 580 euros. The optional carbon fibre housings will be a 100 euros plus.
We know that this is not exactly cheap for you guys from the US also considering the current exchange rates but the product will be very well engineered and manufactured which is always related to costs.

And if you guys want to organize a group buy we are very open for offering a fair discount and organize cheap shipping...

Cheers

Beni

I'm interested in why you priced it in Euros as opposed to the Swiss Franc?

Us U.S. guys are getting hosed on that exchange rate.
