As for the VZ hood, I think it's lighter than 10 kgs. Just to pick a stock metal one up and then the c/f one, it felt about 60-70% lighter at a guess. It is being 'finished' by a local guy who will also put in some vents and it wasn't cheap by the time it got to me down here let me tell you. Expensive to ship.
Hi Patrick, when I fitted mine I took with me some bathroom scales (which I doubt are that accurate at these weights) and if I remember correctly the original metal one was approximately 20kg or more and my CF one was showing 9kg. It feels lighter than that if I'm honest, but either way a 50% reduction without compromising day to day usability makes it worthwhile for me

Development Update
I spent most of the day today working on the re-developed housings which are now looking very good and will now work with both LHD and RHD cars.
Next I need to develop the new revised fitting kit which will utilize the original triangle oem pivot brackets to which a new bar will be molded in to the FRP / CF housings and then the front will feature 1 single mounting adjuster bracket. This method will allow for perfect alignment.
We are still interested in developing a dual round Hella kit at a later stage for those expressing an interest after we develop the same rectangular kit for 924 and 944 n/a owners. The only problem I see with this is going to be the significant increase in product costs as the Hella lights I use in my avatar cost £220 or $440 in US money which is excessive in my opinion (but performance is fantastic). Also my current dual Hella conversion puts out excessive heat which could cause a few issues. I do have an additional dual light option which I can obtain for less than half the price so I'll keep you all informed.

Mark, thanks for the updates. Good to feel that progress is being made. So much in the automotive industry moves at a Glacial pace.

Yes mine is a VZ one, the only problem I had was a little shipping damage that is easily repaired. The finish and fitment seems good, however I just quickly fitted it, I'm sure the guy doing my bodywork will do a better job at aligning it. The one issue I had was that I needed to enlarge the slots in the hood supports on the car to get it positioned correctly.

Hi Patrick, I've not weighed the car for ages so I will get it on the scales as soon as I've got it back.
The car's still in pieces waiting to be painted so it'll be short a while before the SC goes on, but I'm pretty confident I've got everything ready for it now.

For a lot of people who are considering changing to these, it's not a looks issue. Primarily it's a weight and space issue. I think that they can look good anyway, but I also agree that Marks Twin pop-ups look really slick too. Nice to have a choice.
