Moving to Big Blacks from stock - need track pads
I have just ordered a set of Big Blacks with solid rotors from Sunset and will need some track pads. I would assume these rotors will stay cooler than stock under the same service level but I also intend not to baby them like the stocks.
Pad deposition and rotor life are my primary concerns. Does anyone have any suggestions for front and matching rear pads? I have Ferodo 2500s on there now.

Pretty subjective topic. Plenty of opinions here. Pagids, Hawk, Ferodos. I use PFCs and think they're very good. Most will throw a LOT of dust that needs to be cleaned off soon afterwards or it will eat into the wheel finish. Also be prepared for a lot of squealing upon application. Bit of a nuisance when driving on the road. Tip to prospective Private detectives, don't put race pads on if you want to remain stealthy.
The advantage is that you will find you can pull up a lot deeper into the turns and resist fade for much longer, but that's the idea huh.

Just doing the same thing myself... from the people I've talked to, I'm thinking Pagid RS14 (Black) front and RS4-4 (Orange) rear.
This will see very little street time and I'll be running slicks, 2.8 stroker and various mods. From what I've been told, if I wanted more bias for street, I'd probably go RS29 (Yellow) or without all the upgrades the RS4-2 (Blue).
I would alos appreciate any other comments though.

We run Pagid blacks, F and R, with cryo treated rotors and it's served us well. I would think about getting some extra brake cooling up front if you don't already have it. If you're going to run enduros or some other event of longer than 20-30 minutes, then you might want to think about the yellows. my .02

Mixed topic of opinions on them on the DE/Racing Forum. We just DE the car, 20 minute sessions and when Jim and myself are at the track, we're usually in Blue and White groups so the car gets a "rest" if you will between sessions. Again, they've been really good for us, the surface is almost as new and it's the second set of front pads. The rears look new of course. I installed the spindle backing plate, hose and ran that to a front air duct - both sides - to get some good air to them also.

two years, so far so good, braking performance was great, especially when the rod broke Again, we just DE it, Hallett, TWS mostly, Memphis which gets a good high speed braking down the drag strip part of the track. Missed Barber last year.

So Cryo'ing the disc puts a whole new spin on 'Frozen Rotor' huh? Do you find that yours are not playing join the dots as much as those who just have untreated drilled discs?

Actually picked up that trick from Joe Ennett who runs an S2 throughout the midwest. Very fast driver and is one of the chief instructors for signing people off for their PCA licenses. I think he runs Hawks, but he said the theory is the same between pad brands.
