What was the UEGO reading, did you log any of it? Mafterburner logs before/after tuning? Which headgasket? Sorry for the questions but as my 2.8 build looms in the very near future, just curious.

Zeitronix not UEGO. Zeitronix not working on day of smoke, BUT car was running no different than when it was working. Zeitronix is just a gauge. Mafterburner remaps voltages from MAF. While it displays the output from the Zeitronix for logging and tuning purposes, the output of the Zeitronix does not effect the voltages output by the MafterBurner. The stock 02 sensor was hooked up. I was running gas I had autocrossed with 2 weeks earlier which was about a half tank of 91 and 5 gallons of 101.

Maybe something happened to make it run lean, I just don't know. I didn't hear no pings and it wasn't getting hot.

Congratulations on the deal, it is apparent that you have thought it through, so it's good to move on.

Speaking of which, any ideas on what's next?

I am planning to keep this car for a while. I want to fix it and try some crazy stuff. I want to make videos. So please don't ask me for parts yet.

It's definitely got the clutch to handle any sort of crazy stuff.

Going to go compare Boxsters and Caymans at the dealer Tomorrow.

I know your pain. The blown head gasket on mine was the last straw....had it sold within weeks after it was put back together..............I bought the car to enjoy and it wasnt much fun sitting in my garage constantly in need of repair.

I on the other side enjoyed my car for almost four years, until that %$## oriental guy rear ended me. That was the end of the story for me and almost the end of the guy's life as well.

Richard, yes I know all about the Mafterburner and how it works what I meant - if you had the UEGO, it too can log by itself. Regarding the Mafterburner log, just curious if you had any suspect cells on boost.

My 951 was abused by me for 4 years. Run 18psi on it all the time with pump gas (93 oct). It was my only car and I use it for everithing from going to work to drage race aginst anything with wheels. Factory head gasket. The only mods were an Authotority MFS, Raceware Headstuds and a Jacobs Energy Pak ignition module. Never have a problem. Conservative timing is the key to a reliable engine.

Not entirely true since too conservative = burnt exhaust valves.

Well, as of today, DAS has schedule the pick up for my new toy, it should be here within 2-3 weeks. Once again I want to thank Richard for being a gentleman of his word and a true Porsche enthusiast.

My plans are, remove the head inspect for damage if not damage replace the headgasket and tune the car for 21-23psi.
