Default 20v 5cyl turbo 944 project

Some crasy swede doing a 20v 5cyl Turbo Audi conversion into a 944 n/a
Basic engine spec 2,35l , JE pistons, Nira management and turbonetics gt-k 650 turbo.
Looks like he`s building two engines aswell ..
Transmission and driveline from a Toyota supra

Base car

Sways

Volvo door handle

He started the project around 10.11.07 so not bad progress so far.

Holy Mumma! I like it. So much for the transaxle. So is this a track only car? What are you saying is the capacity of the engine? 2.35L? What are the CV's rear axles from?
I know a German guy whose Dad has shoehorned an Audi 3.7L n/a into his 944. Keep us up to date on this Bloddy.

The supra gearbox is there for reason.. If they have less then 800 hp in mind then its no point to use supra box. Those audi blocks with forged internals can take that brutal power easily..

And E85 for sure

Default nice work but...

What do you suppose the front to rear weight balance is now that the transaxle has been eliminated and replaced with a traditional transmission?

From 50/50 to 70/30?

What other forged internals does the Audi have over us?

It's just that the 20v 5cyl Audi engines tolerate insane boost. And live to tell about

2,35l yes , He is shooting for 700hp/800nm .. Not the wildest 5cyl Audi then , but a lot of custom work . As I understand this is a track only car for the Gatebil-series. That means he is racing against pretty much 600hp + cars http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnKdC...eature=related (Check out the Audi UR quatro around 1:55 ) Search for gatebil @ youtube and you should have plenty of videos popping up , may be some girls there aswell. .

I would guess some of the swedes here know more about this car.
I shall ask him about the CV`s
Front rear balance ? I don`t know .. But then again this is supposed to go sideways most of the time anyway I just thought it is a interesting project to follow ..

Some more pics

This is the work of a TRUE novice.

That car will go NOWHERE if it has ANY power whatsoever.
It won't even be fun, just stupid.

And that is nice compared to what I would say about the 2 exchangers up front.
Where are the tanks.

And look at that throttle body!
Let me guess.....2 inch ic pipes, right?

High school shop class at its best!!!
The irony is that this will be the guy that comes on here and says US dynos read higher!:r oflmao:

My thoughts, precisely.

What is he putting back there to compensate for the lost weight? Larger fuel tank?
