Safe to run Methanol inj @ 15PSI?
Would it be safe to run an injection system of pure methanol at 15psi boost, with gasoline octane 91? Did some searching but you all have higher octanes than CA.
TIA

you can run 15psi without methanol, so I dont see how adding it is going to put you in danger of blowing your motor up. Maybe im missing the question?

yeah wayyyy too little info. its a bit more complicated, but i cant see how adding meth could possible make it MORE prone to detonations unless the amount or the tuning was jsut completely whack.

yes, this is on a supercharged 2.5 motor (9.5 compression). i want to do a meth injection for maybe an extra kick to the boostage and wanted to make sure it was ok.
now, would 15psi on higher compression be alright on 91 octane?

You need to find out
what kind of mixture you want to use
what will be the trigger (rpm/boost/a % of the fuel output/a combination of a few)
how will you control it (piggyback/pressure switch etc)
how will you create an effective failsafe (this one is $$$)
nozzle placement?
source for the parts?

Get your stuff in a pile and go to a good dyno shop....after reading up on it.

you cant just run injection and crank the boost. if anything you can get away with running more aggressive timing but I would not simply throw more boost at it and think you'll be ok. a couple of psi is probably doable but it also depends on your hardware and what it is designed to do.
it can be risky to tune for injection unless you have safe guards set up so that you'll know if the injection fails due to electrical problem, a clogged nozzle or if you run out of fluid. if you have a handle on all this stuff its not unreasonable to run programing designed for a slightly higher octane fuel supplemented by injection, especially during the cool winter months.
Aquamist makes several nice solutions but their stuff is $$. you can design and make your own but I would not recommend it unless you really do your research

Methanol works to raise octane levels....
It's as simple as merely installing a water injection system, and filling it with windshield washer fluid. It's pretty common practice on a lot of turbo cars in order to get a bit more boost out of a low octane fuel situation.
Grand National websites even have recipes for dumping alcohol directly into the gas tank to raise octane levels.
On my old namesake car, I ran a Spearco Water Injection system, that I would run denatured alcohol in during nights at the drag strip.

Meth doesn't just increase octane it also reduces your intake temps an insane amount.
The major problem with Meth is that its toxic also most Meth setups are a joke.
To do it right cost about $800 all parts included but we already running standalone EMS's
