Default Anybody want my car?

It it time to sell my 1986 951. I am getting too old and slow to enjoy it anymore. It is located in Denver, CO. Here are the details:

Black with black interior

2.8 stroker engine with K27/7200 8 hot side turbo. MFS system, cat pipe, slightly worked cylinder head. Made 350 rwhp and about 375 ft/lbs last time I dynoed it with 14 psi boost. It is a street engine and not really intended to make huge top end power. The engine is in perfect condition and uses not a drop of oil. I just replaced the belts and coolant hoses, along with some other miscellaneous stuff.

Other features:

Turbo Cup clutch
250 lb/in Weltmeister front springs
30mm hollow T-bars
New (<10000 miles) stock shocks (crappy Denver roads)
968 M030 front sway bar
New (<10000 miles) RF control arm and steering rack
CUP 2 17 inch wheels
Wrightwood racing lightweight front discs and 993 TT calipers
Fancy sound system with Alpine CD and XM satellite radio. Soundstream amp and ADS speakers
Recaro SRD seats

The car has 260,000 total miles. Mostly highway and no track use. The engine has about 110,000 of that. It has been my daily driver for the past 8 years.

The exterior looks pretty good. No major paint problems. There is a golf ball dent in the hood and the left front fender has a pretty good dent. I will probably get those fixed here pretty soon. The car also has the original windshield, which has a small crack on the passenger side and is pretty pitted.

The interior is ok too. There are a couple of wear holes in the driver seat and the dash is cracked a little bit. The rear carpet is a little faded too.

It could use a set of tires, but I think I should leave that for the buyer because the car is no fun to drive in snow without snow tires. I would include a reasonably priced set of tires in the purchase price.

The car will come with my remaining 951 spares. These include a fancy K26 turbo (new) a set of headers, and a bunch of small parts that I am too lazy to list.

Sorry, no LSD, but I will include installation of the buyer's LSD at no charge.

BTW, I just updated my membership, so please don't delete this.

Please make offer.

Thanks,

Yes, I remember reading an article about Cervelis and the powerhaus owner long ago.

Located in Denver. I am interested in some pictures also though. That is a hell of a distance from Michigan but eh.

For what it's worth. Chris has had my transmission ready for rebuild as soon as I get the gears for it. He's also done the suspension upgrades for my car. He's a stand up, trustworthy guy who really knows his way in and around our cars. Who ever buys this car can buy it with confidence that it is in tip top running condition.

Thanks for the nice comments!

A couple other things about the car:

new engine harness about 2 years ago.
new fuel pump about 1 year ago.
new a/c compressor and condenser about 1 year ago.
new reference TDC sensor yesterday.

I will get some pictures up once I get the car cleaned up more. The weather here has not been too good for car washing so it may be a few days.

I am looking to get 10-12K depending on how much more work I have to do for the buyer(body, tires, LSD, etc.)

I want to buy a 1996 750il (like Joe had) and hopefully have a few bucks leftover to waste on my racecar.

Thanks,

Lart, are you taking Moderator 101? I have some stuff to sell and I read through all the hoops of selling stuff here only to find out that it's loosely enforced.

Now get your butt back to the 928 forum!

Chris, post a couple of pics.

No dude, you know how many times I posted a for sale thread asking for an offer and randy jump all over me or deleted the thread and that was when I was paying the fee for small business sponsor.

Chris, I want to see pictures and 10-12k is okay depending of condition.

I remember when Chris purchased that car from a customer. He built that 2.8 motor for the customer and was willing to purchase it back. I would not hesitate to get this vehicle, if you want a good performing vehicle that has been properly maintained and not boosted to early demise.

Interior carpet is cheap, and the 928 leather shop has beautiful 951 dashes and seat leather in stock. Have Chris install a LSD. Then the new owner takes care of the dents, recover the seats, and someone will have a very nice 2.8 951 for under 15K. Now that's a performance bargain.

Lart, you can only buy it if you keep it and not part it out!!!!

This car sounds like a great candidate for a track car. Pictures would be great!
