Thumbs up

I would nearly sell a kidney to get a 951 engine built by Chris Cervelli. This car should be sold by the end of the week end.

Interior carpet is cheap, and the 928 leather shop has beautiful 951 dashes and seat leather in stock. Have Chris install a LSD. Then the new owner takes care of the dents, recover the seats, and someone will have a very nice 2.8 951 for under 15K. Now that's a performance bargain.

Lart, you can only buy it if you keep it and not part it out!!!!
I have come to truly enjoy taking these cars apart, is something more than profit, something misterious.

I hope to God someone other than Lart buys it. No offense Lart.

Chris, that 750il was the best car I ever had. After 235,000 miles, it almost paid me to drive it. I'd still have it if it didn't get rear ended. Also, in 97', the introduced Navigation on the cars. Something to think about. That's the only thing I missed and was going to upgrade.

Several people have asked for pictures, so here they are. These are a year or so old, but not much has changed. Also I should mention that the engine in my car is based off a M44/52 engine, so it has the autotensioner and the one piece balance shaft covers.

This car would be a great deal for someone and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from Chris. Chris has maintained my former 993tt and my 951 and is the best mechanic I have ever come across in 10+ years of ownership...
Anyway, the engine, clutch, and big reds are worth the price of admission!

If I hadn't just bought one I would be all over this!

Is the car still available? I thought it would have been sold by now.

The only reason it hasn't sold is that I don't think Chris has really marketed it.
Anyway, I just saw it yesterday when I went to go pick up my 951 (aim dataogger installed!) and only wish the wife would allow me to have 2!

His asking price is awesome as the parts alone would be worth way more than he is asking:

-fresh 2.8 motor 5-6k
-turbo cup clutch .5k
-maf and turbo 1.5k
-big red brakes and rotors .75k
-recaros .5k
-cup II wheels .75k
-sound system .5k
**I also think I am being very conservative with the pricing above***

Anyway, then you still would have a rolling chassis to get 3k (super easy) out of!

Granted it would be best of someone bought this car and enjoyed it BUT I am just trying to show how great of a value it is!

Someone please buy this before I get in trouble with my wife and start looking into this myself!

Nice car, the person who will buy this car will be a lucky guy. Like Greg said only in the mods is near the asking price. Please Lart if you buy it use it.

Doesn't this car have a fresh motor also...I was going through the classifieds and found an ad for just the motor (I think)...here are the specs:

"This a 2.8 stroker engine. Here are the details:

89 Turbo S block and oil pan
968 crankshaft
Carrillo rods
Andial/Mahle 100.5 mm pistons
O-ringed head
K27/7200 with 8 hot side
one year old wiring harness
new timing and balance shaft belts
no oil leaks
Lightened flywheel
Turbo Cup clutch disc
<5% leakdown

The engine will be complete from oil pan to intake manifold and from timing covers to the bellhousing and clutch.

Zero mile head gasket and valve job. New rod bearings.

This engine has never been used for racing. Street and highway mileage only.

It is essentially perfect."

I made an offer on the car but Chris refused. I think he said he was going to keep it for himself,

Chris - If you've decided to keep the car, would you consider selling the headers from your "spares" collection? I have no idea what they're worth, but my stock manifolds have a few cracks and I've been thinking about installing headers instead when I re-assemble.

Thanks
