The bottom of the 968 front end is narrower than the 951. A guy on the 968 forum actually retrofitted an AIR 951 splitter to fit on his 968 and he had to trim it down. The funny thing is, the guys on the 968 forum all want the AIR style 951 splitters for their 968s and the 951 guys want 968 splitters for their 951s. Personally I think the AIR 951 splitter looks better. The 968 splitter is rather plain and it sticks out a bit further. The 968 splitter looks decent on metallic cars but I think it makes flat colored cars, especially white cars, look dated.
One thing you should take into consideration if you are planning on taking a mold of this manufacturer's product and make your own version, that manufacturer has the right to the design that they produced. I don't know if it is even legal to copy someone's product and then sell your own version for profit. You might want to talk to AIR before you pursue this any further. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I'm pretty sure that AIR Didn't even come up with that design. Can anyone confirm that? several companies make the same style splitter in eurpoe too, I think.

well i asked the guy who trimmed down the AIR splitter for the 968 about making a mold and producing more, and I know this guy would do that for the other guys on the forum, he has tested and produced parts on his own for people on the forums, and these were the implications he gave me for making a copy of the piece. I believe this guy knows what he's talking about, he has worked with small companies that produce parts for these cars like rsbarn and kla. Don't get me wrong here, I would love to have a urethane version of the AIR splitter and if this whole deal goes through, I would buy one from nodestination, but I don't want to see anyone get in trouble over this.

i highly doubt AIR is in any position to sue anybody, since they have mold-copied the product as well.

I would be interested in a splitter that would retain the factory batwing.
I had the fiberglass splitter and threw it away in a week. Looks good, but cracks easily and is poor quality.
David Floyd, Is that kevins car?

I would think that you only need to do a slight variation as these things are almost generic. Apparently there are many various molds out there that have been copied from other manufacturers.
Any pics of the 968 one that has been mentioned here?

Hey guys I don't post very often here, but lurk quite a bit. I own a spray on bed liner/ industrial coating business and have access to medium set time polyurethanes in the 85A to 90A range. Much cheaper than 140 / gal. Would love to help out on this project. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Kevin has been PM'd, hopefully we can work something out and pass the savings on to you. a 951 splitter for under $200 in polyurethane would be spectacular for this community... then some hoop spoilers perhaps?
est. arrival of my splitter is the 23rd. Then the molding process begins, and i should have some samples for you.
