gauging intrest: urethane AIR style splitter

Liked my idea in the other thread? I'm in for two for sure, possibly a third. I can get a hold of an AIR spoiler if you need it for measurements, etc...
A possible alternative would be to design one that works in conjunction with the factory batwing. That should make it easier to mount (sandwich between the bumper cover and the batwing for the top leading edge, and attach to the botton just ahead of the air relief in the batwing), lighter, easier to manufacture AND ship. We should also be able to give it better aero flow than the AIR unit, which is a flat surface on teh bottom from what I recall, and doesn't work as well as the bat wing (this is really splitting hairs, as I doubt it would have any real world effect, but hey, why not at least mention it? lol).
Ping me if you want, I've worked on this idea a bit.
Regards,

I have an air splitter, so thats not a problem. but my batwing was ripped off when i bought the car, so I have practically no idea what you're talking about in regards to adding a splitter to the pre existing batwing.
It looks like they'll be more than enough interest, so Im going to go for it.
Urethanes are measured on the shore scale... i think i'm going to go with an 85A shore. it will be slightly more ridgid than a car tire. Good retention, but enough give to not break.
Give me a month or so and i should have a good prototype, then we'll go from there.
edit: A rubber shoe sole is 85A shore. sound good? softer? harder? thats not supposed to sound as dirty as it does...

Me too. Looks great. Who's the manufacturer? Does anyone know if the irregular lip design has any functional advantage over the straighter lip of the A.I.R.? (Again, probably no real world effect, but it would be nice to know that, in theory, the design is functionally superior.)

That splitter does look good but I can't believe that it doesn't get ripped off from time to time. My car is probably even lower than David's and I wouldn't be able to drive into the workshop with that. I suppose if it was made out of urethane we could just cut it back to whatever height we needed.
Daigo, what shape splitter would you be after?

Count me in.
For reference, I think there is a splitter for 968's that sandwiches between the batwing and bumper panel. You might want to do a search or ask the guys on the 968 forum for pics and ideas.
