actually.....

the lean condition and a retarded boost (at guage) may indicate a disconnected vac line off of the main branch between runners 3 and 4.

This is a common source.

Sooooo,
Disconnect the lines from that little banjo and put 20 psi into them from a compressor.
You need a quiet garage.

Let us hope the answer is so easy!

Although, wouldn't that only affect the boost guage itself, and not really affect my spoolup as much right?

EXACTLY!
Forgive me for suspecting you, but its easy to be fooled by the boost guage.

Its because there are TWO indications of vac signal problems.
You should never be 14:1 under load with the controls you have.
Logic dictates you elliminate this possibility first.

Then check for exhaust leaks.

"no cat"

yeah im at 11-12 afr on full boost. You'd be surprised how many boost leaks you can find when you pressurize the system- wheres a link to the boost leak detector- it clamps where your afm would go and pressurizes everything after that.

I am about to pressure test my intake, I am having other problems but I need to find out where all my leaks are. The rubber and clamps are good at the IC (both sides), TB and turbo, so I have to be leaking air from some where else.

i just changed the gaskets on my tial wastegate. they were the old type and one was only half there. if you're hearing loud whoosing sounds when your wastegate opens, you might recheck your wastegate. the two screws holding the wastegate on were very loose and the wastegate was kind of just sitting on the crossover. the first time this happened, i managed to get an allen wrench up there and try and get it tight. however, it loosened up and the second time, i removed the entire wastegate and tightened it out of the car with new gaskets. my spool is alot better and it's quiter as it was leaking alot before.

I drove the car-- Starting at 2k rpms in 4th gear, 15 psi hits a little before 4k rpms. No where near as linear as my VS 2s were, either.

Alright, I have pressurized every vaccum line to test for leaks @ 20 psi and that's done nothing. Now time to check the FQS to make sure it's in the right spot.

FQS is in the stock position.

How common is it for a guage to be incorrect? Pulling out that sensor to recalibrate sure is a PITA!

You don't need to pull out the sensor to recalibrate it. There is a procedure on how to do it in the car, read the details in the manual. Basically, you run the car on the open road, let off the gas (coast down) this generates vacuum and the engine works as an air pump. Calibrate the sensor while off throttle.
