Uh about the tires he had on.
TMS I'm not sure you looked very closely at those tires he had but I just went out and looked at my car. I was thinking that it had those same pilot sports on, and it did. Coming from a drag background I can honestly say these Michilin pilot sports are about as drag friendly as the cv shafts . The tread wear may be rated at 220 but they are about 10 times harder than any drag radial I ever used

for all those talking about him sleeping on the line it don't matter. The timing lights don't start until after you pull from the line. So you can sit there and wait 5 seconds before you start its not going to make a difference in your ET. Infact you see alot of poeple with two steps doing this. They will sit there and wait until desired boost is built and they are ready..then they lift and go.
Thanks so much for the video. I wish we had some on board stuff or some stuff from the side. I could hear ST's car fall outta the powerband inbetween shifts and then rebuild boost. I think that hurt him some too. Both cars did great and both have alot of room for improvement.
but, hands down tms killed tool. On the drive home from a roll it would have been over but, who cares. This was 1/4.
Big props need to go to both guys for actually showing up and running their cars instead of their mouths. You guys did great. Thanks for the entertaining vid. Maybe i'll go find some of my old stock 944 turbo passes and post them up. haha 14.0 FTW.

He had afull intirior and no cage so he had to keep the trap speeds and et down. He was just about locking up the barkes in the last 400ft. He was trapping as low as 47mph with times as low as 11.3sec. Alot of people that night said he runs low tens with it. It was the nicest car there that night, really really clean.

You know what, I shouldn't be so hard on special tool but it does require ***** to go on the net and be humilliated like that, I personally would have rather blown my engine by raising the boost than lost the race, but that's me I come from a different generation where one ball count as much as two of the young guys these days. Props to Special tool for putting a good race. I can tell you one thing if Tony G would have raced instead of St the outcome would have been different because TonyG is Dman. TonyG>ST

I have two comments for this thread. Trap speeds are more telling than ET's, ET's are for the hardcore drag racer, traps are for those who want to know how fast their car is. And #2, As for a rematch, as long as it's next summer, let me know, yes, the gauntlet hast been thrown.

ST's traps are still way down though. I bet once he gets it sorted with a decent set of tires and gets some practice you will see his trap speed increase 10mph.
