A k26/8 will not hold 19 to redline.

My money is on rogue. Nize can't take a joke or throw a simulated punch.

Hey Vitesse, I am going to be in the market for an MAF very soon. I will definately consider your MAF and from all the positive feedback I am pretty sure I will buy it from you. I will PM you later for help if thats cool. Great thread.

LOL two purveyors whose most wanted posters hang prominantly in the Porsche post office. Though possible, you would be hard presed to find two less reputable Porsche people...ofcourse Danno might be willing to talk to you...lol

I just put on a new Tial, and my 26/8 with 33K miles hits 18 PSI easily (accidentally...for now) but also bleeds off to 15 at redline (Profec EBC). So Nize, what's the secret to holding 19 PSI to redline with a 26/8?

i have electronic variable boost control, which controls dual solenoids, which controls the tial wastegate.

i configured it to gradually close the wastegate as the motor approaches redline, sustaining boost.

i'm sure that if you were also able to close the wastegate 100% as you approach redline, you could sustain 19psi of boost with the stock k26/8.

I sure would like to see a K26/8 holding 19psi @6500rpm. Here is a datalog of my K27DR holding only ~17psi @ 6541RPM:

This is not with the stock wastegate either. Granted, this is at 5280+ feet, and that is ~3psi or so less air pressure, which would be similar to holding 21psi @ sea-level. I don't believe a stock K26/8 will hold only 2psi less then a K27.

how is your wastegate/boost controlled? do you have the ability to completely shut the wastegate at redline?

Why has the wastegate has anything to do with this if you have a DPW. My understanding is that the DPW compares the actual manifold pressure to the 'set' pressure regulated by your boost controller so if you set your boost controller to 19psi then your wastegate should be closed at 19psi irrespective of RPM as the pressure either side of the diaphram is the same - assuming your boost controller is working properly of course. I had been lead to understand that the K26/8 does bleed boost pressure at high rpm's due to the physical capacity of the compressor - it simply cannot flow the volume of air required to maintian boost pressure, it isn't physically big enough - though if someone has done it is obvioulsy can!
