Sluggish until 3K....
Ok... Had my 951 at Curry's...
They noticed (as I suspected) that the car is really in good shape, but that it seems to not have much low end power even for a turbo....
I am planning on doing whatever it takes to get the power back. Every vacuum line has been replaced and the engine is clean. Almost every gasket had been replaced in November of 06. I didn't look but do 87's have that venturi stuff going on?
Is there anything ya'll can suggest to give me my bottom end back?
besides exercise and diet thank you!!!!
P.S. motor mounts going in next weekend so I will be "in there"
Thanks JC

Might want to drive another 951 just to make sure you're not over-hoping for low end torque. Start with a good state of tune -- air filter, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, clean injectors, good fuel, good fuel pressure, etc. Any chance your catalytic converter is old/clogged? Make sure timing belt is timed correctly too.

Yep. I agree completly. Remember also the 951 has very long throttle traval. Much longer than most modern cars so giving it just a little gas below 3k does not yield much at all.
In fact the NA does not have much power under 3k either, but since it has so much less power overall you don't notice difference as much. You do in 951 since you have so little below 3k and it build so quick right after that.

You should definitely try to drive another 951 before thinking your car has no low end power. They all suck below ~3k
You mean like this?

I will post tonight all the work that was done by Curry. They are a good shop from what I hear.
It had all the seals replaced, belts waterpump, overflow, all the hoses (every single one including vacuum and water), clutch master, clutch etc... about 9K worth of work.
It was the shop that mentioned that is was sluggish compared to other 951's...
It is sluggish compared to my na but that I expected...
Tonight more information and pics....
P.S. ohh and I forgot.. I have two other running 951's (not inspected) that are chipped but they definitely blow the doors off this one from the low end... just they have body damage...
So maybe it's the chips?
one is 951max and the other I can't remember it began with a c maybe?

As to the question of about the Venturi. Some say that their 87's didn't have them but mine did so it may depend on build date. If you have vacuum lines running to metal lines going up under the intake, then you have a venturi.
