I am not saying or implying anything bad about your most recent dyno. It looks good, pulls all they way with no drop in TQ. If you want big HP, you have to give up TQ.

As far as my engine being bigger, yes it is a little but, you have bigger valves, hotter cam, stage 2 headers, bigger intercooler, bigger TB, a bigger turbo and more boost.

Interesting with the overlaid dyno charts - it stands to suggest Tms will get the jump - Jim will have to be coming from behind...

HP is absolute king on the track. Look at dynos for any drag car - Ultimate goal is max HP at redline ALWAYS! Torque is of no consiquence at redline.

torque - how much "work" you can do
HP - how fast you can do it

Looks like tool can do it pretty fast

Not reality.

One aspect a dyno does not capture is how fast an engine climbs through rpm.

it will be about driver - (read throttle modulation)
Neither car will hook will break loose (spin tires). Who ever spins the tires will loose

So is this a best 2 out of three runs kind of deal????

Correct, but assuming roughly equivalent rotating masses and vehicle weights, it gives you a decent idea.

3 fundamentals that come to mind :
Camshaft profile, turbo characteristics, amount of boost

look like apples and oranges to me

Horsepower is still just an equation of how quickly the torque can get the mass moving. The fundamentals you mentioned directly affect horsepower. Two motors with the same exact tq/hp curve, even if radically different in design, will move the same mass in the same manner.

Here are my predictions... Ok, well with some help.
Should be an intresting race. ST will need to keep it above 6k in order to capitialize on his HP advantage.

Here's the software if you want to plug in different numbers. Play with the Tire traction coefficient. All the other numbers only make minor changes...

http://www.maxracesoftware.com/etavbwin.htm

One tip. Race 2 out of 3, but make every race like the last one, because if you really go this fast, you're likly to be asked to leave ET or no ET.

***************** edited to correct crank HP for ST. **********
using a factor of .9, you can use anything you want but I needed crank HP for the calculations.
