im sorry trap speed is all about one thing hp and weight. Luis to say any different is crazy. Sure you need to hook but, once you do power is power. doesn't matter what its in. I've been around powerful cars all my life and driven my share....even at the track yes.

I stand by my comment depending on how close to sea level he is ....even if his ET is **** cause of his 60ft if track prep is good...his car will do 130mph in its sleep.

600rwhp in a 3500lb car isint like 600rwhp in a 2500lb car. I hope the track prep is good and he doesn't have any problem hook on the late end of the track(if they don't keep it up thats what heppens with larger hp cars...they get off the line okay then in the upper gears slip and slide down the back end of the track).

If all is as it should be. There really isint a debate here. Power to weight ratio is power to weight ratio. ST's car here running at ennis would kill.

regardless just get it on video.

To anyone actually doubting 130+ traps here a scarey accurate calculator
http://www.rx7.com/accel_calculator.html

For fun I plugged in my car which I can back up with time slips...its scarey accurate.
My car weighed in at 3047lbs and has a turbo S tranny. I ran a 14.01 @ 99mph and a 14.1@100mph Check out what the calulator said I would run.

230rwhp(I was running LBE and 14psi) weight=3047lbs shifts=4 tire height = 26inch Gear= 3.38
E.T= 13.96
Trap speed=100.91
Trap Rpm=4412

Just using tools current numbers( I don't know his weight so I put in 2500lbs)
Acceleration Calculator
Horsepower (HP) Weight (lbs) Shifts Tire height (inch.) Gear
546 2500 4 26 3.38

Power to Weight Ratio: 4.6
E.T.: 10.24
Trap Speed: 142.57
Trap RPM:6233

I was surprised too when I saw that they were doing this but it does make sense. Some of those cars were putting down an HONEST 600+ RWHP. Now since you seem so skeptical, I would love to hear why you think semi-trailing arms are so wonderful/superior? ...ride quality and unsprung weight are all I can think of.

btw I have seen pictures of a dedicated 944 turbo drag car. I think it had a blown small block. I believe it also had a stick axel and a powerglide.

So what does this all mean for these two guys and the 1/4 mile? ...not a whole lot haha. But they should be a blast to run and especially to watch. If they really rail on these cars it's going to be some crazy squirly racing.

Well, I just bought a transmission today. If I get it rebuilt with the gears I want and put in the car, I'm seriously going to try to come out there to run with you guys as I may be sending my car out that way for upgrades anyway. Too bad it wasn't just a bit later, I'd for sure make it, but if I can, I'm in...

Joe, I thought you were going for top speed gearing not acceleration?

I only want to switch sixth gear for the top speed. Otherwise I want to haul *** as fast as possible through every gear with minimal wheelspin. Optimally, if I have enough power, I'd like to get 0-60 times using only first gear (like the Z06 Vette) unless it would take too long to build boost.

This should be an interesting event, and I thought the Soprano's ending was entertaining!
