I have noticed a whole lot of 951's for sale in the last few weeks--
Is it just bc of spring?
0r
Is everyone buying 911's?

It's seasonal Ted, and the guys that can't afford them will sell at a lower price which increases to odd's that the new owner can't afford to fix the current damage, let alone the maint. Thinning of the herd, if you will.

Spring is the time of the year when most people sell their cars. I think it's due to a number of factors, most notably being the fact that it's just been winter and people are ready for something else.
Also, as far as college is concerned, many people sell their cars due to graduation and whatnot.
If you're ever looking for a right time to buy, it's now. Best time to sell is generally late fall/early winter, because people are generally more willing to spend money then. Granted, this trend works primarily for a place that does not get massacred w/ snow (i.e. where I live), so if you live in, say, the Northwest Territory your trend will likely be somewhat different.

Did any of you see that post a few days ago about the 89 turbo for sale in Utah for $1800! Well, turns out it is actually a 87' with a snapped timing belt. The owner was a total moron, I talked to him personally, and wow. There should be a law banning certain people from owning these cars. The guy supposedly did 2K worth of work in 1 year of ownership but apparently never had the belt changed. He said he thought it was every 60k that it had to be replaced. He said his mechanic mentioned it to him the last time but said he would do it later. I could have cracked his head with my phone. Was he kidding?
Then I thought to myself thats a huge contribution to this cars demise/ thinning of the herd. Some buyers just want a porsche and are too dumb to do some research and check priorities in maintanace, how to buy one, etc. To me its sad in a way.
And its our duty to not let this happen, I hope someone responsible from here buys it and revives it. It would be a nice project for someone. Please, if your thinking of getting one cheap, rescue this car from this retard. I have the #.

excuse me but there are seasoned vets here who knew it was time for the belts and didn't take care of it or have it done and ended up the same way.
it sounds like the guys mechanic wasn't too sharp and didn't press the issue.

I try to do that, but with a part like a turbocharger, how do you know if it just randomly craps out on you? mine wasn't smoking, no excessive oil in the intercooler pipes (there was a light film, which I understand with the KKK turbos is normal), was doing nothing of the sort, and then one day it was whistling at me...
