Default Installed a Forge 007 and now have a whistle :(

Hello folks!

Over the weekend I installed a Forge 007 DV and now I get a whistle when I shift. It is not a quick chirp but a good .5-.75 whistle when I shift.

With my previous DV's, stock and turbo XS I believe, I did not get this whistle.

On a side note, the Forge got rid of my fluttering noise when I shift, but replaced it with a whistle.

By the way, I have not tried reversing the Forge yet.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

Which way did you install it?
At first I installed mine oposite of the stock CBV (had trouble making it fit the "right" way).
I didn't care for the sound so I turned it around.
Now it just makes the typical ricey pssshhht-sound.
Someone from Forge commented on this during the group-buy and said that the valve should function regeradless of which way it was installed, but that you could get a whisteling sound by installing it oposite of stock.

Do you still have a stock airbox?

I have a LR stage 2 MAF, LR sport turbo and the rest of the necessary hardware. I just went out and reversed it and it still makes a whistle.

Thanks

can you take a picture of how it is arranged now? Also are you sure it is tight on the connectors, and the top (im assuming this is one where you can open it)?

Which spring did you use?
Maybe too stiff?

I have the same valve and it worked great with the spring that came installed. Are you sure its hooked up right, the port with the piston face is supposed to go to the turbo inlet

Try the test outlined at the end of this .pdf, it will help determine if the valve is leaking:

...well it looks like I don't have enough posts to post a link. So go to our website, click on media in the link bar, and click on the third link. It should be titled "valve service guide".

Just to let everyone know I switched it around and the noise was still there. Upon further inspection I had a small tear on the under side of one of the hoses. I replaced the hose and the noise is gone.

But on a side note, the whistle was still there, but much quieter, when it was installed in the reverse orientation.

Thanks everybody for your responses.

Also wanted to add that I have more vacuum now and I gained two pounds of boost simply by replacing the DV.

Tom
