Angry 944 Turbo boost problem HELP!!

I have a 1986 944 Turbo. I have a frustrating problem with the car not producing the boost that the (weltmeister) chips are set for. For years the car ran 18-19psi and now the car runs at 14-16psi I had an accident to the front end of the header panel and light panel but it did not appear as if the intercooler was damaged. I cannot find any vacuum leaks that I am aware of and the POP off valve was just replaced. The turbo spools quick and fast but I do not peak boost any higher than 15-16. Here is the kicker. When I am on the highway the car does on occasion reach 18-19psi. Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be so that I can restore my 18-19psi thru all gears like it used to?

DO you have a dual port wastegate? maybe one of the lines popped off. If you are still using the factory vacuum lines then I would replace them.

You might want to check your cycling valve for broken ears. I had 2 broken ears and my only boost controller was my foot and a steady stare at the boost gauge. I also had the Welt chips. It ran great after a venturi delete and new vac hose.

I have not checked the cycling valve good idea. I'll check that tomorrow. Just an FYI.. I do NOT have a dualport wastegate. Pretty much everything on the car is stock except the chips and lindsey boost enhancer. Why would the car only run 15psi and then on the highway top gear approach 18-19 though. Would this still be contibuted by a cycling valve. How much for a new one?

Forgive me as I am not a mechanic by any means and I am trying to learn more and more about the 944 Turbo but are you saying that the cycling valve is not needed if I use a venturi delete. What does the venturi delete actually accomplish and what is the job of the cycling valve?

If you are stuck in low boost, but occasionally it reaches full boost, could it be something wrong with the KLR chip?

How hard is it to do a venturi delete. Do you think that this might be the problem that I am facing with not achieving the same boost level that I did?

cycling valve makes your boost come on slowly instead of instantly. Im sure this was to keep pple from wrecking them as easily. If you are running any type of boost controller you should probablly get rid of the cycling valve as it will mess w/ it anyways.

The car doesn't go beyond 15psi until I get into top gear and really get on it. Weird Huh!!! I was wondering if it could be the chips too. Not sure though. I'm just trying to get some feedback and keep on checking. How would I know if the chips all of a sudden went bad?

I do not have a boost controller since I am still running the stock wastegate. My 18-19psi boost setting is conrolled by the Weltmeister chips that I purchased several years ago.

If I floor it in 1st 2nd 3rd etc. I only get 15psi boost but like I said .... top gear floored I achieve 17-19. Just and FYI to everyone responding I really appreciate the feedback and help.

Any more ideas? Should I try the venturi delete and see what happens?
