Also just bought new 951 late offset non-M030 spindles from Germany to work with 9m's adapters. Got the new 04 996 GT3 front and rear calipers and rotors here waiting.
The car is getting the ABS pump installed and plumbed... then the big brakes go on.

Also, what is everybody else (apart from Tony) doing about rear brakes? Is it totally necessary to update them at the same time, especially with adjustable bias control?

I have a Tilton cockpit adjustable bias adjustment. Stock rears with only an upgrade in the front. I am using Kokeln rotor hats with slotted rotors on the front. I already have a large cooling duct to the caliper that rams through the fog light opening. I am also using the Koklen dual master set up and stock pedals. I expect to purchase either GT3 calipers or AP Racing for the front.

Frankly, I'm not sure what I'd do with more rear braking power since there are many turns of the dial left to add to the rear

Thanks for the good feedback guys. Guess if it's needed the current front BReds can be shifted back.

I think Olli is just saying that it's either 4 older style or 4 Monoblocks all round. From an appearance aspect.
I've heard of guys running their BRs on the rear. Not sure if more rear brake/rotor is needed, but as a few guys above with adjustment available have mentioned, more rear braking doesn't seem to be a necessity.

We all know Olli loves his 6 pot bling...it's just taking a few of us a little longer to catch up!!
btw Marc are you going to run the 97's in the rear?
We should take a poll on what pads everyone is using on the track also just for interests sake?

Please don't gag over my response, although I do expect to get flamed ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have 3 brand new sets of Pagid Orange pads for the rear, which are throw backs from before the LS conversion. I'm still trying to wear out the set that's in there now so I'll be running the Oranges for a long time.
My GT3 calipers came with a nearly new set of the Yellow P-29s (saving me over 300 bucks) which stood up to everything thrown at them. They show hardly any wear after 13 days, two of which were open track days, one at the Glen (3.5 hours) and one at Summit Point (4 hours).
That little dial on the dash really makes mixing compounds a non-issue![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Recieved my calipers, man are they HUGE!!
Waiting for rotors/pads so I can do a test fit them on the speedlines. It might be a close fit. I measured the speedlines on the inner half and I have approx 16.5 inches diameter accounting for wheels weights on 2 seperate sides of the halves. I also measured the width on the calipers and they are approx 1/2 inch wide where the rotor would be. I figure if I add another 1/4 inch of clearance between rotor and caliper for a 350mm rotor, I get the following:
13.77 inch rotor
.5 inch clearance between rotor and caliper
1 inch thickness adding both sides of caliper opening
Total 15.27 inches minimum.
This should give me barely enough to clear the wheel inners. I cannot give up on my Speedlines. It only took 3 yrs to find a set so if they don't work I will put the brake setup up for sale.
This will also require custom adapters. I think I need to switch back to non M030 spindles because it would be much easier getting billets that mount to standard adapters on the axial side and to the calipers on the radial side. I will keep you guys posted and post some pics once the rotors are here. If this works, I will also switch to monoblock rears.
Let me know what you guys think.
Regards.

2 new MAN truck rotors costing 180euros both. 375mm dia 45mm thickness.
down sized to 370mm x 37mm by a good machine shop.
2 wilwood t bolt hats EBAY (40 euros both),and a set of 24 Tbolts 180$
2 951 87 spindles (not s)
A set of Tuareg VW brake pads 85 euros (i could not afford the gt3 pads)
need to modify a litlle.
A set of 928s2 yes 928 hubs machined the front bearing position 6 mm to fit it in the 951 spindles.
2 adaptors made out of aluminium 40mmx40mm bar.
Rear brakes stock but i use 18inch.Porsche sport wheels.
5000 km braking frequently hard from 250 no issues.
At one occasion brakes paid me off ,I had to nail it from at least 280km to avoid a FIAT cutting me off from the opposite sideThey worked fine and no marks of oveheating. The rotors with the hats weigh 11.5 kg against 9 kg of the steel 951-928 rotor.
