Default Turbo Pistons found for 968 engine!

Hey

I dont know have this company been presented here but I found company Wössner who could easily make 968/s2 16 valve turbo pisotns. Pistons are EXTREMLY HIGH QUALITY and ....................a bit expencive! They are so called race pistons, meaning that they are really light and you can see from the piston design also.. But they will suite street engine as well and they are extremly strong. Company is located in germany and does mostly race spec stuff. They are the best quality you can get for porsche. Totally new level compaire to Mahle, JP, WISECO etc... They have made several turbo pistons for our engines before..so this is not new for them!

Now the price . its 255 EUR/337 USD per piston meaning 1347 USD per set + transportation..
more info and contacts here

http://www.woessner-kolben.de/english/indexenglish.html

This company can make pistons for any application unlimited quantities..

Happy Boosting with multiple valves! ,

Markus

Markus,

so we can forget Wiseco we discussed yesterday. How about those 8V versions? Can Wössner make them? As i told you i cannot use 16V head due our yearly inspection...

Great info. But before you commit to buying a set you want to make god dam sure the coating does not rub off. We had a rennlister buy a set from a vender we all know, and according to him the coating wore off needless to say not good.

Please clarify or expand upon this? I am very curious to hear more about this, and if this is an isolated case? For so far, all of the research I've done is saying these are one of the best pistons made, and are the lightest around too. So enlighten me and the others on this problem? Was this their coating or an aftermarket one? Thanks.

Well I do not know does wössner coat their pistons. But I am more then sure that it can be done upon request. I quess what you pay is what you get and wössner is good example for it.

Chris are you familiar with wössner?

They are nice

Yes, somewhat. The picture I posted is of some samples I have here – the right one is an 8v turbo piston and the left is an S2 piston. I have been talking to Mr. Wossner about the technical details and I will meet with him next week (along with Karl at the Racers Edge).

I hope to be trying some out soon as long as we can iron out all the technical details. I don’t do much with stock (ausil) bores – mostly sleeved motors so I don’t have much info on the coatings – but I will ask him when I see him.

They do look like a nice design for race use and they are a lot lighter than stock.

Alusil pistons are of a hard material which is coated on, these pistons in question were after market ones apparently the story goes the coating wore off, guess what happened next. I have seen a set of those pistons do the same thing to the walls. Could be just a bad batch who knows, but its a costly end result.

I am not refering to the swain coatings applied to piston etc .
