I am in the same situation as I have the inserts, but I cannot leave the car on the lift in order to wait to have the shocks rebuilt. The car is not by any means a daily driver I just cannot get it home from the shop to my garage. I need a donor pair of shocks to convert and then I can send my orig shocks back to the donor supplier. My shocks now are not the koni's but I need to haved someone install the inserts as my tech is afraid to do the conversion, he is a bolt on guy.

I have a pair of front strut mounts, struts and springs from a 1987 951 for sale for $125
They have 63k miles on them. They are still connected to the mounts so it would make an easy install. I can sends pics by email...

We have an allignment machine, so that would not be a problem. I have been given some track allignment specs so I can get that done.
I was hoping to find someone who had a set of 87-88 front shocks sitting around so I could "borrow" have them modified and then install them and give my stock shocks back.

I have exactly what you need - I have the strut housing - pre-cut with the hole drilled in the bottome for mountint the new insert. I was planning on going that route but came across a deal for the entire stut/insert/coil assembly. I will post pixs if you like - they are from an 68 turbo but I think they all fit the same.

So the old ones I have would just be pulled, and these installed with no issues?

Pictures -All you would have to do iis place that rubber seal around the edges, insert the "inserts" - and screw from the botto. Like I said they are from an 86 turbo. The are in great shape - minor surface rust - can be easily sanded off. $30 plus shipping (approx $45 in total) - they are just sitting by my desk collecting dust.

Jean: Ok, I got your PM and replied.

Well, looks ok.

Anyone else know if 86 would be an issue?

Merc: If this works out, since I am getting help on this, I would be willing to sell you my old Koni struts for you to work on real cheap. Or at least for what you would be able to sell your stock stuts for.
