Cool Merc!

I have the Welt's 250lb springs on there now.

I oculd already tell a big difference by doing the rear shocks last weekend and should see even more when the fronts are done next weekend.

NO NEW BUMP STOPS, MY CAR HAS 70K SO BUMP STOPS ARE GOOD.
BUMP STOPS STOP THE SHOCK FROM BOTTOMING OUT.
Sorry about the caps to lazy to retype.
I just corded my front track tire so I am not in a rush to get the install done, because my
season is now over.
I need to get the susp finished if I decide to sell my car and start an upcoming 911 project that I have been toying with the idea.
I am toying with selling my car, but with this being my 3rd 951 everytime I sell my car I buy another one shortly and good sub 100k cars are getting harder to find!
My current car is so clean I have been told it is one of the cleanest cars left!

Jean: Got it!! thanks.

You know, I guess this is ok to do, but I have wondered why no one has questioned the safety of the modification..???

Only one bolt is holding the insert in the strut casing and that is a LOT of preesure on there...no???

Toddk911, no problem with the Koni conversion. We've done tons of them as well as sold hundreds of the inserts. When you think about it, on a rebuildable early factory strut, the insert is only held in with one gland nut on the top and that works well. With the 8641-1414 Sport units they're held in at the bottom and small wedge shaped bumps "swedge" the insert into the strut tube when you tighten the bottom bolt. The "cut the strut" type of insert has been used by Koni for quite a while...well before it was offered on the 944.
