Default Cracked 300HP!

I was going to post this on the 'maximum HP from AFM' thread but decided to start another instead. Dave Lindsey took the red car (89 turbo S) back to the dyno today. He installed a dual port wastegate and 4" exhaust. Before with the old wastegate which wasn't holding boost he made 275HP/304TQ at 15.5 psi and 278HP/334TQ at 20psi.

This was impressive to say the least, but didn't quite live up to everyone's expectations because when I first came to Rennlist I said you could get 300+HP from a mostly stock car, including stock AFM with the 951MAX chips.

I just got off the phone with Dave a few minutes ago. He said when he went to start the car it wouldn't start, so he did the usual, tapping the dme relay, etc. Then looked at the flywheel sensors and saw a crumbled cable. He taped it back together and the car started. On the dyno the car coughed a few times and they suspect it's the sensor. But even with that issue they made 305.2HP/345.4TQ at 16psi of boost. I'll post the chart here and on my site as soon as he sends them to me later tonight. And hopefully it won't be long before we have another run at some higher boost without the sensor issues to see the car's full capability.

Regards,
Russell

From what I hear the 3.0L engine makes 800RWHP in stock form, but I suppose I could try to improve upon it a bit

You have a 3.0L? I didnt read that. I thought you personally had a 2.5L stock? And Dave @ LR is doing that on his own 1989 2.5L, right?

I HAD a 2.5 '86, sold it last year and have nothing at the moment. This dyno is Dave's red '89 2.5L Turbo S, all stock except the wastegate and exhaust.
