Close real close.
A stock part that sets between the 3rd and 4th cyl under the intake. At the White top A T-shaped plug in plug into to. The Wastagate plugs into it, the idle stablizer plug into it and something else. But when it goes bad it make the boost do some real lame ****!

I loosend the acclerator cable a bit more took it out and ran it. It try the ole loop very slightly and then reset itself. I did it one more time real hard and it lost boost then reset itself.

Das K\CP
I think this 4 intake gaskets + new o-ring in the throttle body + new sensor wires are in ordre as well as intalling the hose from the wastegate to the k\CP. That will give me a place to start to try to figure out the crazy boost issue. It is probably a vac leak when the SOB heats up, but IDK?
For $88 that would be a cheap fix +6 bucks for intake gasket 4 bucks for a new throttle body o-ring.

K/CP = knock/charge pressure control unit (= factory term) -> one of the computers in the passenger footwell, most of these guys talk about KLR (what ever...). The thingy you are talking about is the timing valve (= factory term), most of these guys talk about CV (cycling valve).

To test yours, put 12v across the terminals. If it "clicks" and shifts from the middle nipple to the one opposite the one the wastegate plugs into, it's fine and your problem lies elsewhere.
Other than that - use extreme caution installing the hoses to it - these things have a bad case of "nipple-crack-off-itis". Ask me how I know!
