Default 89 951 dyno chart

Here is the chart from a run done today. What do you think? The tq line is interesting. We did four runs and the tq line was the same.

Interesting, as I've never seen one like this on these cars.

its misleading calling it an '89 951 dyno chart' implies stock k26/8 to me.

Excellent!
If the curves are correct it shows mainly that a very effective cam with long duration and overlap is used together with a short runner intake and big turbo with low backpressure.

What are the specs on the engine and what boost level?

Sorry, this should have been posted under the 951 MAX chip discussion. With that said what is Eyal asking? I don't understand his question. There was no dyno error or slip. This is a 4th gear run on a dynojet.

George D:

-Your first chart made me laugh. That's Dave Lindsey's 2.5L done @ 23 PSI.

-You have a beautiful flat TQ too, very nice.

-Why is your peak TQ so late? How about some specs like Duke had said?

I have never seen a FLATLINED torque curve like that.........

and considering there is no smoothing on the chart ........

Nice numbers

We are all a little perplexed. The dyno charts prior to the 951 MAX chips were not this good on the tq curve. We did four runs and the tq curve was the same. Even if the dyno wasn't right, having 350tq at 6500 is bizarre on a 2.5 motor.

This dyno is certified for the Supra shootouts and they have 9 second honda at the shop. They are the read deal when it comes to the rice community. Some of the fastest Supra's in the world are built here.

would be nice to have a boost log additionaly to the torque curve. To me all looks sensible. torque and power match: Where the power rises lineary the torque is flat, OK.

It might be just the fakt that the torque curve is a straight line in some rev range that makes it look strange. If the boost would be constant as well it would indeed be strange because it would mean that the motor has the same volumetric efficiency in a wide rev range.

what I just wrote is not exactly correct and simplified, but the core is still OK....

Exactly my thought after reading the specs of the engine.
It would be impossible to attain such a tq curve with the stock cam at a fixed boost level.

The S75 is a very large (compressor wise) turbo and it probably doesn't get into the maxium efficieny zone until near redline. That along with a rising boost level would explain the flat curve.

"Even if the dyno wasn't right, having 350tq at 6500 is bizarre on a 2.5 motor."

No, I would say that is a good sign of the "breathability" of the Super 75. it just does not run out of steam until way more than we run on a 951.

The specs on this turbo that others use in the import "super high boost" world run this turbo to 25-30psi no problems.
