update! So I bought the motor mounts from the supplier I previously mentioned in this thread. Yep $83 dollars a piece and the point is they are the "REAL DEAL". Little "P" included.

I thought that places that resold them had to scrape the P thing off of them? If this isn't the case and those are the real things I'm going to order a set later today.

Yep thats why I posted so anyone in the market could take advantage... From what I've heard it sounds like the little P is supposed to be gone but sure enough it's there. I'm not surprised as I've made many orders through that company and always been impressed with the quality of parts and service.

Original Mount on the left ( worn and a bit compressed) . These where the ones that used to fail . The one to the right is a original porsche replacement mount .

Both these two motor mounts are sold through Porsche as a OEM replacement part . There are some slight difference IIRC there was a height differenca at some mm .
When I asked at my Porsche dealer why there was a difference they said that Porsche changed their manufacturer of these mounts ..
There is also a couple of years between the production date of these two mounts.

Ok, so the green ones are original factory pieces? No wonder my engine vibrates like crazy. 21yr old badly designed rubber mounts.

BTW: I measured the distance between the bearing surfaces of the aftermarket mount, it is 76.50mm.

The manual indicates 70mm +/- 1mm......kind of odd?

I recently made the mistake of buying some cheap, solid rubber knock-offs from Ebay. At least I read this thread before installing them in my 951.

The seller lists them as OEM. They have no markings on them other than "Germany" molded into the rubber, and "Hamburg-Technic" printed on the plastic bag they came in. $80 per pair. Too good to be true? You betcha.

I will never buy from this seller again. He was hard to reach and was rude when I politely asked for a refund. The seller is deutschepartsusa.

On a positive note, I have always had good luck buying from paragon-products.com. Also, I recently bought some Mercedes parts from autohausaz.com. I would buy from either of them again in a heartbeat. Decent prices, quality parts and excellent customer service.

Just fyi, the official porsche ones I ordered from sunset arrived last week, so I would assume they are no longer back ordered for other places as well.

I'm not even sure what 928 mounts are supposed to look like but the consensus here is the original Porsche mounts are the only way to go. It doesn't look like those are Porsche + they are much less expensive than the P mounts.
