If You Could....

It's the recent V8 thread. If you need torque through a broad range, a turbo on a relative small engine isn't necessarily the place to go.

I dont think a v8 is totally neccessery. I figure with the right turbo, something ball bearing that spools early it would be fine. My 240sx is a 2.0 with a T28 and it spools at like 2500 rpm and can still pull V8s on the freeway till redline/top speed, with the 951 it feels like its trying to spool a windmill for a compressor. I would have imagined the larger displacement would HELP spooling/turbo charecteristics.

take an n/a, and just have yourself a 951 drivetrain that you swap in.
actually, n/a's are decent for amateur drifting purposes. i think there's a lister, like, F2 iceland or something like that who has an n/a drift car.
do a search for him.

humboldt?

Becareful with power and drifting...
Rage2 used his car for drifting, a lot of drifting and 400+whp.....the cv's take most of the stresses and the bolts break.

put some koni rear coilovers on it w/ some real stiff springs front and rear....Get some hard *** tires and get that thing to spool quicker. Would be an awsome ride..

Lower the front ride height and leave the rear up high. This will really let the rear come loose and stay loose with the stock suspension. Leaving the car balanced it grabs traction back too soon so you end up going way too fast.
As for the Power side I would think a 2.8 stroker with a K27/6 would provide lots of low end let go with the least amount of spool time.
My only problem is trying to steer, shift, AND use the parking brake with the Brake on the left side and the shifter on my right.
Also, a good mod might be cutting the light and wiper stalks shorter on the steering column to keep from breaking them off in the shift, brake, steer frenzy.
Oh yeah, and kill the Parking Brake lock button function.

The total of the static loads on either the front or rear tires will remain the same no matter what you do to the springs (or torsion bars) in terms of ride heights. The only way to change the weight distribution of the car fore and aft is to physically move (battery for instance) or remove pieces of the car.
I'm not trying to diss your post, just trying to clarify the information.
