Default detonation problems

OK i just had my new car dyno'ed and was pleased with the results. But there was some detonation and possibly some miss-fire. The dyno turned out 313RWTQ and 251RWHP on 91 octane. I was supprised to find that the car was hitting 19psi ofg boost at around 3500-4000rpm's but would decrease evenly to about 11psi at redline. so my question is:

Will a higher octane make it not detonate? or could i have a bigger/different issue?

BTW, the a/f was mid 11's all the way from 3000rpm-redline.

Im scared to mess up my car, please help lol.

First turn down the boost before it blows up. Yes, higher octane helps greatly, it will reduce detonation, but may not eliminate it. (I assume you are thinking of 93oct).

Go buy a bunch of xylene and fix it when you get home. Ofcourse nothing says that you have to get on the boost, until you get things fixed, but adding xylene for octane boost may allow you to worry less, if you are really desperate on time.

Yup..... just keep your foot out of it, surely you don't drive around town hitting 19 psi on a regular basis do you ?

nah, ill jsut keep my foot out of it and keep it under 1 bar. Will the xylene ruin/affect anything if its going strait through the tank/motor (800 miles is like 3 fill ups).

OK im starting to think that this is more serious. The stock boost gauge is now telling me that at full boost (when im on it) its hitting 2 bar. EIther this guage is wrong or my engine/ turbo is amazing me. off throttle its ok (even slightly its ok) but when you get on it it just jumps strait to 2bar. So either your on or your off, or your feathering. anyone have any idea what could be causing this? i checked most/all the tubes i could find and they were all tight and not leaking.

Weird thing is, the car feelings like it pulls harder everytime i drive it, but i get more and more scared each time i do. Anyone ever encountered this problem? boost rising w/o a obvious reason why?
