Quietest aftermarket muffler compared to stock
I know, I know, this has been beat to death and back because I've read much of the archived stuff. This was supposed to be a poll but obviously I'm too stupid to build a Poll.
1) Borla XR-1
2) Flowmaster 50 series
3) Magnaflow
4) Edlebrock RPM
5) Other
Just a quick answer whether you have heard one in person, or on a vid, or whatever. If there's a #5 in your response, please list the muffler.
Hopefully this will help folks for the next few months.

Drifting
I put on a Magnaflow and it's not that much louder than stock at idle. Even friends w/ 951s questioned if I had changed mufflers because they couldn't notice too much of a difference at idle. It's certainly louder under acceleration, though.

I can only speak about the Borla XR-1, it's quite loud but it sounds great.
Here's a audio file at idle with my SFR cat-back (with Borla XR-1)

I imput the choices on the Poll tool, put I don't see the poll. Do you attach the poll after the topic has been posted? jeeze... what a noob..
One thing I knew, the Borla is just slightly better than a pipe.
Selecting a new exh is on my list of "chores" this evening and I think I'm starting to move away from buying a muffler from one of the sponsors, which is where the exh will come from. SFR is very convienent because they're here in SD, but the muffler selection is iffy at best.

I want to know this as well.
My stock exhaust is starting to come apart, and the muffler needs replacement. Honestly I just want a nice quiet muffler to replace it with, but I don't want to lose any power.

I may have one of those vids, I have been watching this topic for a loooong time.
Here's a Magna vote, kinda

PHP Code:
I pulled it all off and went back to what I had. Then I bought another 951 (which was a mistake). It had a stock exhaust. I did some measuring and ordered a 3" stainless Magnaflow Part num 14219 5x8x14 oval to fit in place of the GHL muffler delete pipe. I installed it on the car with the stock cat pipe in place, which resulted in the best sound. It was music to my ears. I couldnt live knowing I had a squashed up stock cat pipe so I ordered an SFR 3 stainless test pipe. I put it on and noise level went through the roof.
