What the hell are you talking about?
How can anyone even "call me out" on this qoute:
"don't think you can beat it with a chipped 951."

English is not my mother tounge, I'll give you that, but if my qoute above means "State some specific" to you to which I need proof to back up I'm not sure what to say...

Or do you NOT agree with my statement? If not please say so (meaning that you DO think a chipped 951 will beat an E60 M5), otherwise we can continue..

UUUUGH - Duke, I mean 60-100 MPH!!
Too many numbers for a knucklehead like me to keep track of.

And its worse for me bcause I have a 300 KPH speedo - so I have to DOUBLE TRANSLATE FROM 100-160 (60-100)

Anyway - yes I will do 100-160 KPH in under 3 seconds with slicks, easily.

Jim, is 100-200 kph not 100-160 please man get it straigh or I won't defend you from Mr. G anymore. Btw mr. G is working in a new 600hp v8 944t project with titanium pushrods and depleted uraniun valves are you going to race him?

Hehe yeah I suspected something like that... otherwise I'd be typing pages of numbers from 8 sec Supras, F1 cars etc.etc. right about now

(and just so people know, I have no doubt whatsoever regarding the 60-100 mph times)

Then again maybe some guys let there grandmother run there cars for the test. As far as doing a roll on against a M5 and a 951, stock to stock not even a race. the M5 will smoke it. But an 951 with 325rwhp at 3000lbs should be able to stay or pull away (slowly) from an M5. 4000lbs is 4000lb. DO THE MATH on power to weight ratio. Has nothing to do with how old a car is . I no dragger with 1970 cars and they will smoke all these fancy new cars. Horsepower is Horsepower. You guys are saying that the M5 is the fastest car on the road (almost) if it can smoke a 911tt.
your in la la land...I iwll find the video and post a link

**edit** found it

Maybe 360-370rwhp to really beat one good enough where their was no question who was faster.

how many 951's on this board make 360rwhp?

refer above
Didnt I already state that??

I comment was to those who think a 320rwhp 951 could beat one they are living in la la land....320rwhp 951 cant take a new m5 sorry.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...45651231980506

here the slightly slower m5 basically neck and neck with a x50 996 TT from a standstill to over 140mph.

once again for you 951 owners who think a 320rwhp 951 can beat a new m5 put down the crack pipe.

and tony no one is stating all around performance on the race track dude...the terms were straightline performance in a street race. Because if that was the case the m5 has a heavy fat *** to lug around and the more nimble 951 could beat it much easier with less hp.

Track and street are very different things.

The M5 / E55 were developed for high speed travelling on unrestricted European roads. Signal to signal, 1/4 mile etc is not very popular there but especially in Germany they like to shine on the Autobahn between 100-150 mph + if speedlimiter removed and the above cars are extremly capeable in that department, so the 951 from a roll thing might not work out so well. Another thing to consider is the question how many 400whp 951's are there which are 100% reliable on pump, start at -20 or +125 deg and require no tinkering, a handful, maybe two ?
BMW most likely had the best engine in F1 for the last 5 years and most of that R&D went into the new M5 motor and again , some of you have to drive it to really see what a fantastic engine it is.

Wow, you guys are still on this. Ok, from a few pages ago...
Pole Position, I laughed out loud when I read that you called out Todd Z. who owns Evo Motorsports on where I got that they make 750 bolt on mods. You are exactly right. He's the guy who told me and you are right again when you said he used to work for Powerhaus. He did.
Tony G. I believe you when you say the stock blocks can't take that kind of pressure. That's just what they are selling, promoting. Conversely, Powerhaus does make a dependable 800 bhp twin turbo setup. Way too expensive for me though.
On the new M5. They are awesome machines. Luxury and speed all in one. Not the kind of speed or car we as 951 owners want out of our cars. That said, you should have made the comparison to something that was built as ours was, like the new vette. This thread would be a lot shorter. They are fast. I raced one from a dead stop. The guy went 0-60 in first gear! Took me till fourth to pass him. Oh, and I do 60-100 in 3 sec. on a sloppy day as well. Lance J as a witness. That's how fast the new vette is. Now that's a comparison.
