Default Any good/cheap 951 clutches?

I think my clutch is slipping. When full boost comes on in 1st the revs get fast yet I dont feel the power going to the ground or hear any tire squeal. Im on a rather tight budget because Im also saving for an LSD tranny. I am just hoping theres someone out there who knows of a good clutch at a killer price.

Also, is it easier to replace the clutch when the tranny is out?

They warned me about thi$

You don't have to touch the tranny to remove the clutch, it's a PITA job an average mechanic will charge $ 1950-2300.00+ for a clucth job is about 20 hours of labor. Just to let you know.

Really? What do you do instead, pull the radiator and scoot the motor forward?

I think you might have to remove the tranny as well I don't remenber too much, but my clutch job was done during a engine rebuild so my motor was out and I don't recall the tranny being pulled out, but I could be wrong.

Book time for a clutch job is 11 hours and the tranny has to be moved (if the engine is in the car). The fastest I have heard that the clutch can be changed is just under 5 hours but that is probably a bit extreme.

You can do the clutch job as Lart suggests if you use a blow torch to remove the bell housing. Sorry Lart. I had to get you on that one.

Yes my mechanic said you have to move the trany back much easier than removing the engine, lol. The reason why he didn't with me is because he was doing a full engine rebuild.

You know what is the problem, I am a butcher, So far I have parted out 2 951's and sold the parts on ebay and yes the reciprocal saw is very handy on the rusted studs. I am in the process of buying 2 more 951 for parts, but I have never put not even one together.

Clarks's garage quotes the job at 20 hours, it would be great to find a mechanic that can charge you for only 11 hours of labor.

At DEVEK we quote 12 hours for the job. If it takes less the price goes under the quote.

Some people seem to seperate the body from the chassis. Does anyone have a write-up on this method? I'm just wondering if that is the quicker method.
