No Price Contest, a poster asked re: price for hardwelding and regrinding and I wanted to provide actual real data regarding costs on this option, which has been used successfully in many forms of motorsports for decades. I would agree a fresh billet is the better option, but what do you think the benefit is worth the $1K+ more(conjecture - I am not 100% certain of the cost difference)? FWIW, David Raines uses the hardweld/regrind option on his 16v turbos, and has made 599HP at the rear wheels with this setup.

well my horsepower aspirations are 450whp not that ambitious for a 16 valve with big pipes and turbo what i really want is more torque 2500 to 5000 it is this torque area that has kept the 8v in the game and they do it by increased gas velocity at those rpm with a lesser flowing head .
DFASTEST has some nasty torque numbers on his signature wonder if he will jump in talk cams

Well DDP beat me to it but I will be posting pictures and info in another thread. I just need some more time to take pics and write up what my findings are. Not to be secretive but more to make sure I didn't miss anything. As you know, this is a tough crowd. My 1000rwhp thread went to hell in less than 6 hours and someone got banned, lol..
I apologise, I didn't mean to take away any of your thunder.

I'm using variocam from 1.5k rpm to 5.0K rpm. torque curve is flat from 2800 rpms. Looks like a plateau. Bore is 108mm by 93mm stroke, Wiseco pistons. Stock cams. I need to scan the dyno graph. Today is the first time I can post photos.

Welcome to Rennlist Zagaone. Looks great indeed. Re the wrapped pipes, take it you're trying to keep engine bay temps away from the intake? I've never given it thought -- and guess I assumed the pipes released more heat rather than gathered heat -- but now wondering...
