Default CV to Waste Gate vacuum hose replacment

Dealer price is $27. Can this hose be replaced with standard 1/4" rubber vacuum hose? Or is the OE hose made of a more heat resistant and reinforced material than the Auto Zone off the shelf vacuum hose?

I don't know about the OE stuff, but I have a ¼" silicon hose going to my wastegate. Haven't had a problem yet.

Lots of people use fuel hose.

Be careful working on the CV - the plastic nipples have a bad case of "crack-off-itis".

Yes, if you are replacing the line all the way back to the timing valve, be sure to remove the old hose using a sharp razor blade. If you pull and twist on the hose, there is a good chance the nipple will break off (especially if the timing valve is original).

Thanks for the fuel line hose idea.

Also, thanks for the heads up, but no worrys about the CV valve nipples - my engine is on a cart, the intake manifold is on the work bench, the waste gate is on the garage floor, and Ive got a couple spare cycling valves sitting around.
