How about big blacks off of a 928 GTS. These might be cheaper to locate. I just put a set on the track car, with 3.6 cryo rotors and it's really nice. If you buy new and use the 928 GTS rotor, you can do these for less than $750.

as told by Sam:

993TT/928GTS front calipers
Radial mount, these are commonly known as the Big Red and the Big Black. They are identical in all ways except for their color. 36/44mm pistons paired with a 322mm rotor. Each piston has a pressure seal and dust boot, readily available. 58mm tall pad. A number of rotors available, some requiring custom hats, others a direct fit. 928GTS rotors are a direct fit and non-drilled. 911 C2 3.6 Turbo rotors are a direct fit and drilled. 993TT rotors require custom hats and are 2-piece and drilled. Used values sit over $500 a pair.

Either upgrade requires a master cylinder upgrade to match. This is the only way to maintain track-worthy pedal. There are bolt-in ATE 23 as well as 25mm master cylinders available from other cars. Look at early-90s BMW 7-series for the 25mm, and mid-90s 911s for the 23mm.

Also, the bleed valve is in a different location between the big reds and big blacks. Big reds mount ahead of the wheel axle so the bleed valve would be trailing when installed and require a swap while big blacks run behind the axle and don't require any changes.

I have heard that the 5/33 bias valve is required to add a little more braking at the rear. What master cylinder should be used for this swap?

Ditto on the bias valve, never heard of having to swap masters out.

How about standard 250bhp (S) calipers? (reasonably big blacks) who sells those and how much? I am thinking of replacing mine they are 15 years old I have plate lift and could do with new external piston seals. Whilst they still work OK I am pretty confident new ones would be an improvement, If they are significantly cheaper than big reds/blacks that might be the way I go.
