Theres lots of finicky USB dongles out there. Try one of the ones I mentioned. It has worked with the SMT6, Zeitronix, and various MegaSquirt software as well as another microcontroller I have, not to mention hardware here at work, ticket printers (the gambling machines dont give out money, they print out these tickets that have a bar code that is redeemable at other gambling machines or at the register) and bill acceptors (the slots you stick money/tickets into on gambling machines) and magnetic card readers. Zero issues. Ill be getting a second one and installing two of them and a USB hub in my car, so that all I have is a USB cable for both my MegaSquirt and my Zeitronix.
