Yes and you will be able to do multitasking, split the screen, watch a movie, tune your car and find directions all at the same time. Believe it or not that's one of my 2006 proyects it's far from difficult. Also I will be able to surf the net at my local starbucks, from the comfort of my car .

Check out these little suckers:

Sony U101

We imported a few. They run XP Pro and are very easy to use.

Scootin.. perfect power makes a DOS version of the application for the SMT6.
aximsite.com has a pocket PC DOS emulator that runs the app like a charm.

That sucks, we got about 5 of them back at the beginning of the year and they are nice. There are a few on ebay.

Here's one.

No, it's not one of mine.

Actually I think the whole idea of setting a notebook in the rear of the car or in the back seat and running a smaller lcd monitor is way better than a handheld device.

Here you go. This is the smallest PC I have ever used. It works great and runs windows XP right out of the box. It is made by OQO. http://www.oqo.com This thing would be great for data logging and will run any software written for XP.

por4ever, thanks for the links to mp3car.com. A lot of good info there and in their forum. Didn't even have a clue these dedicated car computers existed. More than enough hp to run a monitoring/tuning program without having to worry about your laptop flying all over the place + you could also install a nav program etc.

Yes, understood but if you have devices with 9 way serial interfaces in the car you may get into trouble. I have a small Sony (getting old now - Vaio PCG-C1VE) and it wont work with some software and the USB/serial convertor. All small PC's I have looked at do not have a 9 way serial port.
