Help me find an 88S or 89 that's not red!
Hello guys,
I'm once again looking for a turbo S spec car that isn't red. I don't particularly care for a perfect exterior (I would like an above average interior however). The car can need some work, be it a leak of some sort or even a blown headgasket or worse. I am looking to spend up to 15k but the perfect car would be somewhere around $9-11k and be somewhat modified (seats/roll bar or cage/harnesses, perhaps suspension). This car will be a dual purpose car for me, and see very heavy track use. I'm quite flexible on pretty much anything but the color.
I would appreciate any leads, or if you are selling yours please get in touch with me. My e-mail is ahmet@rennlist.com
Thanks
Ahmet

I will call that guy today and find out a bit about the car. It is on the expensive side, and though I like looking at clean cars, I'd feel just a bit guilty about parking the car outside, and driving it to school after it's been taken care of so well/garaged...

I'll be honest, I doubt I want a non S car. I've owned 4 of those so far, always wishing I'd gone for the S. Alas, please e-mail me more details on your car, I've looked at it several times and thought it was very nice... ahmet@rennlist.com

What is it about an S that you want? This car has bigger brakes, bigger turbo, bigger sway bars and a better suspension. That being said, I'm not trying to sell the car, but everything is for sale for the right price. Mine right now is 13.5, which is crazy considering the market right now.

Well there's a million refinement upgrades that I would like, such as the vacuum routing on the intake, larger exhaust valves, bracing of the chasis in the front, stiffer bushings, larger hubs and re-inforced control arms, standard hi end sound system, updated security system, ofcourse not to mention the far stronger transaxle. I could ofcourse, go on... Then there's rumors about the programming of the ABS unit. I'm looking at a few different cars, but I am partial to the 951S. If I don't find one soon I will probably pick up a WRX. I imagine I'd regret that after a period of ownership... Anyway, please do send me some details on your car.
Thanks.
Ahmet

Have you seen this car on eBay?

A bit on the higher mileage side, but may be worth taking a look at. 944 Turbo in white...my personal favorite!

That is just about what I'm looking for, a few modifications would've been welcome but not a big deal. I sent him an e-mail. Thanks a bunch for the plug.

Shameless plug for my 88 non-S with better vacuum routing (Laust Peterson's vac manifold.) I did drop my price down in an effort to sell the car quickly.

Why the ABS requirement? I was under the impression most track focused 951 owners preferred non-ABS? You don't get snow/ice in NC, so its not like it will keep you safer in winter weather or anything.
Not trying to criticize your choice, just curious. This is Gielamonster from the old 944 board BTW. Been a while since I've seen a pic of your old Kalahari NA doing those smoky drifts in the parking lot...
