What about having a good welder extend your original crossover pipe to meet the turbocharger? Markus951 extended it by about 5cm.

My x over is an 86 one piece, so dont really mind changing. Also, the stock piece is crushed etc and prone to leaking...

I will take LOTS of pics dont worry Just waiting on Tim to put together the package yay!

Will do mate, I am fairly excited about it! The new intake will be the hard part, SFR has made it easy with the "bolt on" components!

Hey Andrew, this thread just dropped off completely. Is this when you started to abandon ship? Did you ever wind up going with this turbo?

Holy thread revival! I sold my car before I got to try that turbo... but I have seen many 1600-3000cc motors use various specification GT30-35 turbo, and for my mind, they are bang for buck the best turbos out there.

Yeah I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing this again.
So do you still think the GT3582 .63 is good for a 2.5L?

I honestly think the .63 housing is too small for the 2.5. I know it depends on a lot of other factors like CFM flow in the head etc, but to put it into perspective, a mate has a .63 GT35 on his 1.6 4AGE 16v, and revs to 8,000rpm and makes 450WHP. I have seen a LOT of RB20 SR20 and 3S motors (all 2.0) make 500WHP plus on the .63 housing, I really think the .82 housing is the way to go on the 2.5. I used a .63 on mine and I think it really choked it.

On one hand I'm really surprised that not more people try this and how quiet the marketplace awareness is, but on the other hand I wonder just how much I want such a linear response? Perhaps I'm just getting old?
