Default Boost Gauge - which one?

I've been looking at some different boost gauges and just thought I'd inquire which boost gauge (VDO?) is the best match with the gauges in a 951?

Thanks Bloodraven, I sort of thought that was a good choice. Whats the difference between the "Vision" and "Cockpit" series? (150-121 vs. 150-063) I doubt there is much difference but does one look closer to our instrumentation?

to my undertanding, the only difference is the way the light travels to it. The regular guage has backlit LED while the cockpit version has side lighting. I think the vision series looks more stock than the cockpit one

most people install to the cubby, but I am using it for a future project. Not only that, its cheaper to do an a-pillar gauge pod install. http://www.gaugepods.com/porsche.html Lotek makes a good product, and from what I hear (mine is in the mail) the OEM black one looks great! Its not only cheaper to buy the a-pillar guage pod than the cubby pod, but then you don't have to move your eyes down towards the radio to see how much boost you are running.

Well I mounted my auto meter boost gauge in the cubby because I just want other people to see my gauges also its easier to install them in the cubby and you can have up to 3 gauges in there.

I like my VDO, perfect match for the other instruments. I mounted mine on the steering column cover where I can keep my eyes on the rest of the gauges. The A pillar mount didn't work for my old guy eyesight.

Joe - yeah forget that man. Those were modified by Hollywood speedo for 930's - but those guys like to stay in the last millenium too. They are a clutch-style needle and they don't work well for too long.
Get a datalogger system like the Zeitronix, then there is no guessing.

By the way = I just got a Defi guage - it has the most range mechanical on the market. -30 to +35. Its not cheap, but very nice.

Mechanical gauges aren't accurate. I have tried 3 in this car and there all off. Defastest has a nice gauge. Electronic boost is the way to go. The only problem with the greddy is that its metric. I'm so use to psi that I don't think I could go metric. BTW ST I think the needle is going to break off your gauge in no time.

Good gauges:

Omori
Greddy (made by omori)
Defi
I'm sure there are others

VDO (which I have) is a good gauge but not as good as the ones I've listed above. That said, VDO is still better than autometer. I've seen too many failed Autometers.

Where can you get Omori in the US?
