Yea.
Although I have heard many cars bounce off the rev limit and never hear the backfire/popping noise.
I guess just extra fuel in exhaust burning out???

Back On Topic...
Do they have track days at Hockenheimring or Nurburgring? Boy now that's where you'd like to get a machine like that...
Also it's great to know that our cars are aerodynamically stable at such speeds. Konstantin, you mentioned the 968 turbo rear wing and a front splitter(what kind), any other aero mods? is the car lowered? Do you have aero pieces underneith the chassis?
Not that I plan on 300+ kph driving, on public roads in Canada, but it would be a great sense of security at say 240+ that I'm still good for that much more...
Also what tires areyou using and are they rated for such speed? In the old photo, it appears they are slicks.

any other aero mods? is the car lowered?
<yes full on the front but 25 mm higher in the rear

Videos, Please!
Boy wouldn't it be great to see some footage from the cockpit of the 951 going around one of those tracks....
Do you have a camera mount or was somebody holding it?

Boy, she's a keeper!
When I met my wife I had a GTI, then I eased her into a little higher performance Scirocco16v, then I convinced her to get the BMW (e36) then finally the Porsche. It's important to move slowly (upgrading that is) so she can see and feel the differences in performance, and can appreciate the performance. Instead of, "Why do you need such a fast car for?"
Hee hee , tickling 200 mph with your wife in the car... does anyone else find that mildly amusing...

<What size rear tires were you running? It would be nice to go 200 mph in a 951,>
285-18
the car can go for sure more than 200 MPH. I had to slow down becuase of other cars. I do not want to go 7000 upm at this speed. I need another gear box.
how fast is a stock 951 trany at 6800 upm with 285-18 tires

Anyone else having troubles playing this video? It gets stuck at the first frame for me. I've tried updating my codecs but no joy, must have not updated the correct one?

My understading is the 951 gearing is the only limiting factor, not hp. In regards to 200.
Our 5th is sooo short. I know at highway speeds going from 4th to 5th only drops the revs by a few hundred. basically 4 speed with overdrive
A nice 6 speed would do the trick
