Default Any way to make my passenger door..less crapy?

Well ever since i got my car, my passenger door has been really hard to close. And of corse all my buddys who don't care to much about cars feal the hard door and push as hard as they can and it slams shut. Well After all the slams my passenger mirror finally fell off. so now i need to take evasive action.

So my question is: is there any way i can make the door easier to close and open?

Thanks
I-Dogg

I belive so i will go spray some wd-40 on it in a bit. It feals more like the "door stops" im really sure what to call them but it feals like its catching on one of those. Kind of feals like it has not been worn in yet or some thing.

I used to have the same problem.
Used to seem like a ten ton gorilla had to close the door.
White Lithium on the swing arm
Now a butterfly could close it.

I don't know if wd-40 is lube enough.

It could also be that the hinge is pulling away from the body and that the door is sagging. You may need to get it reinforced or rewelded. Does it feel like the bottom of the door is sitting on the rocker and when the close the door hard that it comes in and up?

no its just one part that the door gets hard and it gets hard when its about 5 inchs out. Plus when its closed it looks like it sits just fine and i don't see any ware on the sill.

Testa ill put some lithium on it tonight and see if it makes a difference

Same issue. I thought there might have been damage by PO, evidently my issue is not an isolated incident. I've thought of going to a good bodyshop and having the whole thing 'blueprinted' or all possible parameters optimized to make the passenger side match driver side.
I'm pulling for the lithium.

Put some grease on the swing arm, it is smooth as butter for me (both sides).

I have seen this issue so many times it is not funny. Rare if ever is it anything more than the restraining arm. I myself considered all kinds of things, body shop you name it. Then I looked at that hinge and said,"there is no way that little hinge is making this door seem like it is bolted to the ground" reached for the grease and smooth as butter. I was amazed. I did not question it, simply went to my other door and never have looked back.

These cars hinge setup and door all together are insanely strong. I have stood on the door, with only a hinge bolt or two and it did not faze it's alignment one bit.( this was a parts car so fun tests were the name of the game)

also try tightening the screw that holds the hinge to the body - earlier my door took two hard jerks to close - I tightened the screw and it was fine.

One more question. With my windows completely up every time I hit a bump something jingles in both doors (as if there was something loose) - I went inside and tried to pad anything that looked remotely loose but they still jingle. Any ideas? - besides lowering the window?

lube, tighten, close door, open door...kick **** out of dumbassed friends! If that doesn't work, buy a new door stop and pin off of ebay. replace, but don't lose screws, lube, open, close, then kick **** out of dumbassed friends again, because they forgot the lesson the first time...I PROMISE!
