The wires that you need to tap into, just slide the insulation (without cutting the wire), wrap the SMT6 wire on to the stock wire, solder the 2 wires, wrap..
You will do most of the cutting about 10 inches away from the DME connector..
If you want to take the easy route, get connectors from radio shack. You can just tap the wires without soldering...

I am more interested in how people mount the unit that looks good and solid. That is pretty much it, I have lots of wiring before, so that doesn't bother me at all. Just more of the mounting of everything.

Be sure to soder the connections then use tape on them to insure that they don't touch ANYTHING from other wires to the frame of the car. I am going to do that then use zip ties to keep everything together as well.

There is only 1 DME wire that you cut. When you connect both sides of teh cut to the SMT6 wires you will be able shrink wrap the connection. 2 shring wraps total...

That is a good idea to keep in the glove box like that. I don't think it will work for me because I will need to keep that full of money so when a cop pulls me over I buy my way out of a speeding ticket!!

i used to keep mine in the glovebox too, but after a couple of weeks of my wife leaving **** on it i relocated down to the footwell. there is a ton of space down there, i fit my smt6, zt2 and injector resistor pack down there with no problems.

everything is all tied up.
except for 2 wires.
where does the 02 signal wire go?
It's brown/black.
I have a wideband if that makes a difference
also, where does the mapping switch wire go?
it's grey.
I only ground it when I want to switch maps so I don't connect it to anything right?
