Stock 951 3rd/4th Gear Acceleration tests??
Anyone have any acceleration times for a STOCK 951 (non S)?
I just put my 87T Club Race car back together and not sure it feels right, power-wise.
I ran some acceleration tests to compare to old numbers, but also wanted to see if anyone here has similar numbers.
Again, since this is a club race car, in the stock class, it has stock chips, stock power. The only modification is the cat is deleted, so if you have chips or anything else, I dont want to know your numbers, because it will throw off my comparison.
I ran 3rd gear 4000 - 6000 rpm, and 4th gear 60-80mph and 70-90mph. I had an old 944 series book that had acceleration data in various gears, and they used the mph runs. Normally I would just use the rpm, but to compare to the published data, I also ran the 4th gear mph runs.
If you could also let me know what the ambient temperture was when testing, that would be helpful.
Thanks for any input.

Wes, Im looking for the time (in seconds) that it takes the car to go 4-6k in 3rd.
Stephen, I gave the car some spool up time for each. I started full throttle around 3-3500 in 3rd, and 5-10mph below 60 and 70.
Im not worried about being incredibly consistent, Im just looking for ballpark numbers. The times I got last night were about a full second slower than I was expecting. The car is feeling pretty dead on the top end and the torque never really comes in hard - but the boost numbers are correct, so not sure what the problem is yet. Weather is pretty hot and humid, but should not account for that much of a difference.

Not sure if it will help but my stock 86 with a 1/2 tank and at 2200 ft altitude and 70 F temp tookan avg of 8.6 secs to go from 40 mph to 80 mph in 3rd gear. This was starting from a steady state with no brake boosting so the turbo was not really spooled. Hand timed. The car did 0-60 mph using the first generation GTech meter averaging 6.15 secs with a best of 5.73 secs.

I have some old acceleration figures for the same car with another engine in it, and the #s were anywhere from 5.7-6.4 secs. The tests I ran last night were 6.4-6.8 secs - slow!
