Garrett turbos eat the old KKK stuff for breakfast. I really believe the K26/K27 are well undersized for the 2.5 motor. I would think you wouldnt go past a GT3582 with a .82 turbine as a minimum.

Duke ran one of those on his 2.5L and it was really too laggy. I was just wondering what that turbo above compared to against a GT one in size/spec as his hp looks very good on a Dyno Dynamics dyno. It looks to perform waaaay better than my GT3076R.

I guess it depends on the application, personally I would prefer to gear the car for high HP high RPM over low / mid range torque. The small turbine housings used just choke the 2.5, the #8 is less than a .63, and when I went from the #8 to a .63 I picked up a lot of power over all the rev range, I would have liked to have tried a .82.

When I said to compare the turbo to 'above' I meant this one:
"The turbo I believe is a k26 with a k27 turbine and a #10 hotside which would explain the power numbers. 333 rwhp and 340 rwft/lbs at 16psi"
So is a 10 hotside like an .82?

Well that's just very interesting isn't it....hmmm....
Another interesting thing is that it seems that GTS headlights are popular going by the avatars on this page.

I have a low-compression engine (currently my avatar) waiting for this current one to blow up. Then the "divided by two" power maybe also more interesting.
Constant boost runs, the highest with 14 psi:

Rpm-specific boost profiles, with about 10 psi int he mid range and as high as 17.7 psi in the top end. I changed the settings between runs just to get some data, hence the dispersion across runs at the top end:

Any pics of a #10 compared to a .82? I have a hard time believing that the #10 is "much smaller". If anything I would guess the #10 to be close in size to the .63, perhaps a bit larger.
Well if he is running a K27 compressor with a #8 turbine, then a similar physical size GT would be the 3071R for the compressor.
The #8 turbine wheel is very close in size to the older T3 stg II turbine, or the GT2871R turbine. Keep in mind that the GT turbine wheels flow tons better given the same size.

Well whatever it is, he's getting a much better power figure than me on a much lower boost level. Same brand of dyno. Clearly there can be other mitigating circumstances.
