Hey guys

Few cosmetic upgrades on the way, tell me what ya think:
Front splitter
Cup Mirrors.
Wheels will be painted matt black.
Engine bay will be painted matt black
New 60mm IC piping. also I noticed that may air temp raises from 25c to 40-45c when i am doing full load pulls or drive high speed on the highway. How efficient is stock IC, Anyone here running big FMIC setup? My AC is deleted already to make a room for bigger cooler (if it's neccesary). At the moment Im running 27 psi boost to redline. It never drops during the rpm range, some plans are to raise rev limiter to 7200 rpm ( is that safe with stock cam springs etc). At the moment car is adjusted to 6500 rpm where I have set limiter, so i have to to fuel and timing maps for another 700 rpm.

My vacuum tuning is crappy at the moment. Can anyone give me good tips what 951 engine likes. If im accelerating with 1st gear max boost comes at 4500 rpm, it is a little bit better with 2ng gear but not good in my opinion. What kind of afr and timing setups are people running here. My quess is that im too rich on vacuum, thats why it does not pull as it should but when it stats to build boost then it takes 0.3 sec from 0-28 psi, it spinnes wheels even with 3rd gear when it gets on that rpm range. If some of you are running programmable ECU (LINK, TEC3 ETC) Maybe you can send me fuel or timing maps just for me to see how it is being tuned. Also people who are running different turbo/ecu setups, please post your turbo name exhaust size, ems name, and what is the RPM range when you are getting max boost:

1st gear
2nd gear
3rd gear
4th gear

Im taring to get maximum out of my setup so I need to know what is maximum this engine can do on building boost.

Regards
Markus

SFR do a nice FMIC "kit". I have also started a thread previously on Timing maps, you may want to have a look. No point in looking at fuel maps... only AF curves.

What kind of fuel are you running to be running 27 psi? Reving to 7200 on a stock engine is a little wild if you ask me. I rev to 6850 all day long, but wouldn't rev much higher than that with the stock valvetrain.

Revving to 7200 on a stock engine is mental. I dont rev higher than 6400 at the moment. Once I do the cam and Ti retainers and race springs (fro JME or PD perhaps), I will rev to 6800-6900. IIRC we have an "over square" engine, NOT conducive to high revs!

turbo name: Turbonetics 60-1 HIFI
exhaust size: 3" cat back and 1 3/4" dual system off the Tial
ems name: Link V5 (about to get the Link G2, a VERY impressive list of functions)
what boost are you getting on:

1st gear 20
2nd gear 20
3rd gear 20
4th gear 20

Ok, but when you have max boost on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear. on what rpm range?

Im running 98 gasoline. And my injectors are 680cc. At 20 psi, it feels slow, if you ask me, maybe it's the tuning here what needs to be done to get decent pulls even on 20 psi. Just for you to know that midrange for this turbo is 1.3 bar...

You have a GT30R, that thing LOVES higher boost. On my 60-1 HIFI (Custom SFR turbo), it feels slow at 18psi, then anything above it, its party time! I have also already started a thread with the boost curve...

Have you got a dyno sheet to peak at?

But still

Can anyone here describe boost characteristic with mod list.

GT30R dual ballbearing
3" downpipe
Tatech EMS
680cc injectors.
Tial 40mm WG.

1st gear 4500/18 psi
2nd gear 4000 /20 psi
3rd gear 3600/ 23 psi
4th gear 3600 / 26 psi

i still have a lot of tuning to do specially on low rmp level. I have to lean it up to get better spool. Any tuning tips here?

Also when exhaust manny is cold then if im doing 1st pull with 1st gear then i get 10 psi to redline. Thats normal right? After that 2nd gear gets to 20 psi with np.

That's excellent, what trap speed did you have?

Great numbers really! What was the 60ft? Also, dont forget to post your slip on the Top 10 ET thread!

PS is something wrong with your boost control or do you map your boost like that to control wheel spin?

I dont know the exact trap speed because some sensors did not work, but according to speedo it was 210 kmh, BTW i step off the pedal 30-40 meters before finish line because the vacum hose what controls BOV got loose so i had a boost leak and still managed to get 12.76. As I have told you before My goal while building this car was flat 12 with street tyres. Will see is that possible.

My apexi valve seems to be phisically too small to control 25 psi of boost. (this is what i was running on the quater the other day.

My boost is not maped according to gears but it will be.

Markus

Buzzzz….wrong answer!

100mm bore & 78.9mm stroke – very under square.

The bottom end will rev quite happily but the top end is not designed for it – heavy valve train and ‘torque’ type cam do not encourage revving it up!
