I did a search looking for information on the vertex power friction clutch, but most of the posts are older and only have information from guys that had recently installed them. Does anyone have experience with this clutch disc?

I installed one once from vertex and it certainly had a bit more chatter than I wanted. I've done a lot of 944 clutches, and I'll only do Sachs on most cars now... Works right every time.

Last Sachs disc I bought was list for a Turbo S and the price was around $150... Stupid cheap for the brand name. Wasn't the standard 4 painted springs S clutch as I'd come to expect, but Sachs reliability so far on a decently modified 951 motor. 9/10, would install again.

We've generally stuck with Sachs clutch components for this reason, doing a clutch on a 944 is a big job and we know when we sell Sachs we won't have a problem. No doubt there's other good stuff available, but we know Sachs is top notch and eliminates upset customers.

Also, I was just shopping around and if I'm not mistaken it looks as if the price of the sport disc has gone down significantly.

Default EPS POWER FRICTION CLUTCK KITS AND DISC

Hi Booster

Thank you for your questions and interest in our EPS Power Friction Clutch Discs and Kits.

The EPS Power Friction Clutch Discs and Kits are equipped with a specialized Raybestos or Ferodo Dynamex friction compound that is far superior to its OEM replacement. Furthermore, our Clutch Discs and Kits have an astounding 30% more usable friction material and contact area. What does all of this mean? A Dramatic increase in clutch life, increase holding power, and a smoother engagement.

Technically speaking, OEM has 30.15mm contact area compared to our EPS Clutch Disc which has 40.17mm contact area.

Our EPS Clutch Kits include three main parts:

1 clutch pressure plate
1 clutch disc
1 clutch release bearing

You can see the applications to our EPS Clutch kits here.

If you are still not convinced, you can see NickHend’s post proving how our product is superior in terms of friction material and contact area.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thanks,
EPS Team
