btw I no of several locals running nitrous oxide on their 928's. It works well.

My father wants to put a 125shot on his 87 s4. The newer 4 valve motor with the good heads really does like spray. His car was babied with 60k on the clock when we bought it and it put down 274rwhp stock. He wants it to be around the 400rwhp mark on spray with bolt ons. Pretty easily done with that motor. Great car always loved the 928.

I am sure if a neon was making 300rwhp it wouldn't be under warranty for anything. Last time I checked, neons were making 0rwhp.

Anyways, just picking. I know what you really mean.

HEE HEE HEE.........that's funny.

i love hp, but am not a big fan of fwd. i'd rather have a 100 hp miata than a 40000 hp fwd.

I just don't like the way a fwd drives.

"I guess you took my post as a way to prove to me your 928 is the better all around car. I never said it wasent. "

No, no...not saying that at all. The board i came from is only 928s, and to be honest, i forgot that i was chatting with a non-928 poster.

I like all the 944 Turbo variants just fine, very nice cars, and they seem to have held their value a bit better than the 928s did- for whatever reason(which is what makes the 928 the dollar for dollar performance champ IMO).

"Ofcourse....to each there own."

Hey bro, i'm sure you wouldn't turn down a freebie 928 any more than i'd turn down a freebee 944, 951, or 968. To be honest, either one would be fine with me...it just happened that i ended up in a 928. Had the stars aligned themselves right and a turbo 968 had been available the day i bought my 928- for the number i bought it for- i'd have bought that just as fast, lol.

"Your car's long life might be due to the fact that its been left mostly stock."

Actually, it's not stock. 13.67 is really fast for a naturally aspirated 16v 928 US model. The reason it's lasted so long is because it was a properly maintianed 1 owner car, and because the Porsche V-8 engines are just about bullet proof.

"No one is trying to argue which car is better...cause they depends on the owner you talk to."

I wasn't trying to argue at all. Sorry if you got that impression. My appologies.

"Remember even a new s4 model 928 is only good for 270rwhp or so. It isint until you are dealing with newer GT models and GTS models that you get 300rwhp. Your 928 being older doesnt wiegh as much....well say 3200lbs as opposed to 3500 or so...but, you put down less power."

Actually my 928 weighs in at about 2900. I put the shark on a serious diet(3230 is stock).

"A 83S 928 is good for what?? maybe 240rwhp stock? "

234 US, 300 Euro for an 83my.

"maybe a little less. My point is you could go down to the dealership get a 300+rwhp 2900lb srt4(factory stage 3 kit) keep your warrenty go out and run 12's and not have to worry if it breaks. If you can't atleast give some respect to that...I dont know what you can."

Sorry, no respect for Neons. It can run an 8....it's still a Neon. I'd feel the same way about an 8 second Escort or Focus too....Call me a snob. There's something to be said for a car that looks as good as it drives....and the neon is just not a good looking car, no matter how big a wing Mopar hangs on it...

"considering your car was more than double that new."

$47,000 plus options. I got it for $3,400 at a dealer only auction three years ago(73,000 miles) on an 'if' bid.
Lol, they thought it had a bad trans- was just 2qts low on fluid....dumbassses. It had been sold at auction for $6700 the week before i bought it, but was returned for a bad trans via arbitration. Hence my good fortune....they had to run it as a 'yellow light' car.

I'm of the mindset that i'd rather buy used. To me, being in the car business(sort of), new cars are a suckers bet. You take a bath when you sell out of one, and the insurance premiums are ridiculous. It's an investment that rarely can ever be recovered. When i sell my car i'll more than double my investment(not that i'm selling), and because it's a classic i'm paying about $350 a year for full coverage.

Anyway, didn't mean to come off as trying to start a flame war. I like your cars just fine too.

My cousin has a supercharged 1995 Miata.

Nice car, runs a respectible 14 flat on 8psi(non intercooled), and is a barrel of monkeys to drive. Unlike the neon, it actually looks like a sports car to boot.

"I'm on the 215 beltway in vegas. Every weekend between the hours of midnight and say 4am, a whole group of car guys can be seen of all ages driving their cars. Vipers, Ferrari's, and anyone who thinks they have a fast ride or just likes to drive fast."

Dfastest: I have seen some bad *** videos of super high HP Supras running Busa's on the 215.

No flame war man. I dont think anyone really takes the internet seriously(well most people). If it sounded like I was really upset...lol. im not. I just merly wanted to show the other side of the coin.

1. You are talking to a non 928 poster but, I love 928's lol. My father has owned two of them. The fact that I dont personally own one yet has nothing to do with my posting. lol. I dont play to favorites...I just play to facts and numbers. I have always been that way.

2. I am glad you like the 944 turbo varients just fine. lol. I dont know why you posted that I guess maybe you thought I was up in arms about my car or I didnt repsect the 928..lol. thats not the case man. In any case glad you like other cars than your 928...there are alot of them out there.

3. Thats the reason I said mostly stock. I realize a 13.6 isnt normal at all for those cars. My fathers auto is prolly good for a 14.3 or so on a really good day. Every stock 928 was IMHO a 14sec in the hands of a real driver except for the GTS models and GT models. Even those are only good to high 13's.

4. Well I was obviously quoted stock weight. Its obvious thats were your speed came from. At 2900lbs there is a much better power to weight ratio there. Some of the 928 owners I have talked to forget their s4 or GT weighs 3500+lbs lol. They think cause it makes 320hp that its faster. lol. I was beating my dad's s4 the second I got home in my 951 and the 951 was stock except for LBE @stock boost. He didnt understand why until I told him the weight of my car.
Glad your 928 is running so well. Its always nice to hear.

5. Euro cars always make more hp. No surprise there. 928's euro's for some reason seem to be ALOT faster than their US conterparts. For instance my friend lance's mother had a euro 86S 928 back in the early 90's. That thing would fly compared to my fathers s4 stock for stock. I think he was running a 13.8 with that thing(taking it out without her permission) its been awhile though I would have to ask him. In any rate....you deffenetely got the better motor no doubt.

6. Its okay not to respect something...thats life I find lots of people dont respect other cars. I feel like I have just grown alot and I can respect anything that makes hp or is fast or well taken care of. I have found my auto love truely has grown to points were I can talk to someone about any sports car and like it. The srt4 neon packs a real punch for a 20k. Infact a stock srt4 would beat my fathers stock s4 928. Dad really wouldnt be a race for one. Unless ofcourse the driver was terrible.lol. From a roll though there is no question....the srt would pull.....how can you not think thats neat. Amazing were cars have gone in the past few years.

7. Yeah more than double. I am well aware of the price tag. My fathers s4 was fully loaded in 88 and bought with every option from some mob dude in jersey....even the 5k optional 3pc BBS wheels. I think this price tag was somewhere around mid 70's. Thats crazy to think of considering I stole the car(mother wanted it to be a secret valentines day gift....so I found the car and did to deal and drove it home) for 9k. It was alot of car for the money. Great car and good deal. Glad your deal went so well. I am jealous of the euro motors....they make more power.

8. No flame war here man. I like 928's just fine too. lol. I was just stating #'s.

I think when I buy a 928 it will be a 89 or 90 GT model they seem to be the best bang for your buck these days. Ofcourse I will buy a supra first.

dream garage would be a 951,993tt,928GTS,MKIV supra,03'-04cobra.

I also wouldnt mind have a little rice rocket to place around with. Like a srt4 neon or a DSM or something.

I'm too lazy to read this whole thread, so I'll just toss this in here.

When my car was stock (keep in mind it's an 89, so Turbo S specs) I can across a neon RT on the highway. It was some dumb kid who wanted to race. Well, I didn't exactly blow him away like he was standing still, but I pulled on him nicely until he was a spec in my mirror. He managed a respectable speed I guess, but there was no way he could keep up with me. I have no idea if his car was stock or not.
