Front Licence Plate - Yes? No? Maybe?
For those in states that require a front license plate:
Do you drive without a front plate (like me), even at the risk of a ticket, cuz the Turbo front end just looks so sweet without one?

I drive without license plate. I have never been stopped by a Peace Officer in my 951, I guess because of profiling. I am in my mid 40's and they aren't going to stop me over a front license plate.

In the porsches, I have been pulled over for "not having a front license plate BULB!" I am harrassed enough as it is, so it went back on.
Back when I was 16, I had a 924, and I always rolled with no front plate. I was issued at least 5 tickts for it, and eventually the plate went back on. In the small town I grew up in, where everyone drives $500 neons and buicks rusted to hell, the cops would follow me around town for 3 or 4 miles, just trying to get me slipping up. Theythought I was driving a $50k car or something.

It fits in the glove box? Cool! I keep it behind the front seat in a ziplock bag with the screws and a screw driver...just in case!

A front plate is required in my locale but I choose not to display it. I do however have it under the front seat and have a pre-scripted story about ordering a bracket from Germany memorized.

It's required here but I was only issued one when I bought the car and it looks like crap anyway, so I'm not about to go to the DMV and ask for new plates; I'll just keep renewing the current one.

There is NO WAY I am going to put mine on. Screw the NJ State Troopers or local ones too. I'll do what I've always done with my other sports cars, and that's just carry it on the floor behind me. I'm not going to destroy the looks of my beautiful car because of a damn plate!

As for me, I've been putting my plate in the windshield have not been harrassed. The CVC only says that front plate must be visible and placed less than 60inches off the ground. It doesn't say it has to be on the bumper. So it seems to be legit.
