Ditching the Turbo water pump...
Has anyone deleted the turbo water pump? I still want to water cool the turbo, I just don't really see a need for the auxillary pump. I am installing a Turbo timer, so I think it would be redundant. I'm always for simplifying things in the engine bay. Any insight is appreciated.

Turbo timer isn't a bad idea, but why delete the H2O pump? It increases turbo life and unless it's broken and you're loathe to spend the $150 on a new one, why bother getting rid of it? It's not hurting anything.
I normally just idle my car for a couple minutes prior to shutdown so the coolant and oil will scavenge a lot of the heat away, then once shut down, the turbo pump runs an extra 30 seconds to further cool the turbo down. Can't hurt.

Because like he said in his original post, he wants to simplify the engine bay.

I was wondering what joe was earlier I have a leaky pump and might just put a 90 degree elbow in the place of the waterpump and keep the lines to it, would that work?
